Alright, so I just bought ff xi today. I'm going to be playing it on a ps3 instead of a ps2. I have a wireless router in my house and I want to connect to the internet using that. I'm trying to set up the wireless information, but I have no idea what the hell I'm doing.

    1. What is ISP?
What do I put for User ID/password?
    2. What is a DNS server?
What do I put in for Primary DNS server/Secondary?
Should I set it to "Acquire automatically"?
    3. What are auxiliary settings?(MTU value settings)
    4. What is PPPoE? What info should I put in here?
    5. What are Proxy servers and what do I do with this?

As you can see, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I've set up wireless settings before (my ps3, wii, ds etc.) but I don't know what the hell to do for this. I thought it would be as simple as searching for an access point, choosing my router, and then entering the WEP key. I was very wrong. Sooo, any help is much appreciated.

Why the fuck is it asking for all that?

edit: because that information makes it sound like it's trying to connect directly to the net rather than through a router.

Did you use a wireless connection? This is to register for "Play Online". Also I don't understand why they need my ISP username and password. Aren't you not supposed to give that out?

EDIT: where do I find my active internet settings?

How may I ask do you intend to play it on a PS3? I was aware that only the US got the PS2 version and that it wasn't compatible with any PS3 model?

Well unfortunately I just read that the game doesn't work with the 80 gb ps3...which is a shame because it works with the 60 gb and the 20 gb. That's just fuckin wonderful.

EDIT- and now I just read that it DOES work with the 80 gb...anyone know the truth?

Why do you want to play the horrific pile of old gay that is this game anyway? It's the worst MMO available bar Tabula Rasa.

Looks decent enough to me. I'm gonna try it out for free for 30 days. If it sucks, oh well.
