That was a brilliant, if horrible, read. Loved it.

It's not fiction. Show some respect and proper disgust!

Well I did mention it was horrible :D

Apparently this is probably worthy of this thread.

My eyes change colour based on moods and, seemingly, the weather. Sometimes they're a browney hazel and other times quite green.

    But ... how?
  • Deleted user 14 August 2008 00:01:42
Does she also say "You won't like me when I'm angry"?

    You know, even once.
  • Deleted user 14 August 2008 00:12:11
Yes I believe she may have said that at one point.

So radiation poisoning is the most likely reason based on that evidence. Shit. Better tell her to go to a doctor.

A hundred years later, the skeletons of 75 people were found during a renovation.

Fucking hell - makes the Jersey thing look like a kindergarten picnic.

I do it often. When I was at boarding school, I placed my bed so that if I took a nap in the middle of the day, people entering the room would be faced with my dead, half-open eyes staring them down. Creeped people out no end.

On a more serious note, I've been told that if I ever get hospitalized, I should tell the nurse/doctors about my sleeping habits - apparantly people with severe brain damage sleep with their eyes open as well...

    (AS WELL, DAMMIT!)

The Mary Celeste is still a good story.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Celeste

The wiki page shows quite well how fact can get mixed up with fiction on these types of stories as well as the real story of the Mary Celeste is quite straight forward.

I think that's the real surprise about this story - finding out how unremarkable it really is after all of the embellished versions.

I know, I was gutted reading that article.

I blame Stephen Fry for not telling me the truth. Damn you Stephen!

There's another mystery - why people watch QI when it's just Stephen Fry droning on in a knowall way to Alan Davis, not letting anyone else say anything.

Because it's Quite Interesting indeed. They might as well just sit Stephen there chatting away at the camera for half an hour mind. It'd still be great.

That reminds me of my favorite story from QI.

It's not strictly speaking a mystery but I would call it fairly unusual story.

    That's brilliant :D

Despite reading that, I'd still like to think that the single cat did it.

Yeah the Wiki article ruins the story a bit.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephens_Island_Wren

I much prefer to think we can add Tibbles the cat to the list of evil monsters responsible for genecides.
