    Some more E3 news actually
FFVII coming to Mobile (Not the remake unfortunately)
    http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Final+Fantasy+VII/news.asp?c=65928

Torchlight coming to Mobile (but some crappy freemium version, not a port, which sucks because the original torchlight was super lightweight and ran on a netbook)

Ok so I've just received an ipad air 2 yesterday and I'm looking for some must have apps. I like most genres but a few I'm considering are ftl, ocean horn, sid meiers spaceship one etc. What would you guys consider unmissable. bear in mind I already have an iPhone 6+ so have hearthstone and vainglory plus other iOS games (although mostly free games). Also I only have about 8 credit atm.

Already got hearthstone, Phoenix Wright I love as I still have them all on ds,ticket to ride and hitman go I have but never played. There's a few horror type games I've been looking at too is one lostwithin or something and another is a cutesy looking one (not five nights at Fred's) also there's a bundle of a few games that's looks neat , zenowerk, space marshals and repulze, most of those sounds fairly good. Space marshals looks a little like a one man xcom maybe?

    THIS GUY IS SICK

I'm playing through Final Fantasy 7 on iPad. Here are my thoughts.

It's not a bad port. Obviously completely rebuilding the game to be massively touch friendly would have been a stretch too far - I believe Square might have their "remake" sights set elsewhere for this title - but it is solid.

The onscreen controls are not too intrusive and the 4:3 aspect ratio suits the iPad ratio perfectly. Ok, it isn't as totally precise as a controller - doing squats was harder in this and there are some bits where I need to walk to navigate (junk road pre-Wall Market) - but it is more than satisfactory. Turn based jRPGs always translate well.

It runs faster than it did on PSone, assuming it is the PC version that has been ported (with the 'correct' music).

There are a couple of additions:

    1) THIS GUY ARE SICK got corrected. Noooo.
    2) There are max stats and encounters off options - now the former is a cheaty game breaker obviously, the progression is half the game. The latter, however, is really useful. I just did the fight with the sewer monster post-Don Corneo, I knew I had 2 screens to navigate for a save point but I had to dash as lunch was coming to an end. Flick Encounter None on, run to save point, save. Perfect for mobile use there. It says there is auto-save but I lost a load of progress once by simply shutting the screen between plays.

Yeah not too sure what the heck that auto save does. Certainly doesn't do a save state, when it really ought to.

This will be my third attempt to play FF7. Always gave up part way through in the past due to absolutely mind numbing random battles. Don't particularly mind random battles when I'm moving forward, but going back to look for stuff, or just exploring the scene for it to put you into yet another battle, uurgh. The ability to switch off the battles is a godsend. I won't abuse it too much as it'll hinder future progress, but it's a godsend when I'm hankering for a save point or just want to explore every cranny.

Can't imagine it's practical playing this on a phone though. As Widge says, very easy to lose progress when you dip in and out, something I think we all do on our phones. Simpler on the iPad, can leave it active while playing and not switch out. Plus, the 4:3 is a natural fit unlike the phones.

Pleasantly surprised that it controls fine via touchscreen, minimal though their efforts are in this regard.

    Free huh. Instant suspicion. IAPs?
Looks to be a static ad every four or five games. Which is fine by me. Well made game.

Ah, okay. Don't mind that approach.
Oh hang on. Just noticed there is a Buy the Full Game - three quid gets you extra game modes or similar. Not necessary to enjoy the basic game, which is distracting enough.
