Why was the other World Of Warcraft thread locked?

World Of Warcraft - A fresh start for newbies and veterans

I don't quite get this ... an EG mod locked a popular thread and put a link to a completely different website ...

What has gone wrong in this forum?

It was done by request. The thread got too big to be of use.

It had sort of become the main WoW discussion thread for most WoW players here, people who weren't even part of that particular guild joined in. Closing it is a bit extreme to be honest, maybe renaming it and letting people continue their discussion of all things WoW?

I initially thought there was a rogue moderator here in EG who actively recommending people to switch forum.

    A funny thought.

But yeah, I still find it strange that the thread was locked. Why not make several new ones relating to different aspects of the game?

Rodpad requested it in the moderator batphone.

Like yupyup has said, Rodpad asked for it to be locked and to be linked to their clan forum.

A rogue moderator, not like it hasnt happened before! But I stand to lose a little more since im staff too :p

Erm, there is a general WOW thread on the forum. It's called 'The World Of Warcraft Thread' or something similar.

Some of us, neigh, a lot of us aren't level 70 and not even eligible for those raids.

I used it for general chat about the game, particularly as I didn't see a "no non-guild talk allowed" sign.

It all seems a bit precious really, give it a few weeks and a guild calendar will be in game.

The quicker everyone signs up for the guild website, the quicker we can unlock the other thread and untwist our collective panties.

Guess I'll just move to the one that's been bumped. :)

It's enough time browsing this forum so signing up else where when I won't be involved in anything that is being organised, is for now, not very likely to happen.

There's going to be a guild calendar online? That's a neat idea.

Umm, I guess you lot don't know that the next patch (pre-lich king) has a guild calendar built in?

Seems silly getting a lot of people to tinker with mods when an official one is just around the corner.

I don't recall saying anything about your forum?

I was talking about a guild calendar mod. Which requires setting up and tweaking and then telling people how to get it set up right and so on...

Partake in the guild forum or don't, there's no drama either way
Then it doesn't hurt to have the thread open for everyone that doesn't sign up to chat in, does it..?
