I had the A500 which I upgraded from a half, to a whole megabyte of RAM!

I got the a500+ for my combined birthday/christmas which i believe was the biggest single piece of plastic by area ever constructed by man.

also, just to extend the area required to house the thing, there was a big long piece of kit at the back that required to be plugged in to the aerial out port, then the co ax cable to the telly. Was it the tv emulator or something? cant remember the name....

haha, so true! I have to at least get mine out tonight to look at it....Might even give it a quick huggle for old times sake.

I know what you mean about the kit, no idea what - i thought it was just the simple aeriel signal helper-type-thing ?

It was the RF adaptor so you could output to a normal tv.

That's the badger! jings, we traded my 500+ in when i upgraded to the 1200. Would love to have them both now. :-(

to think how far i personally have come, from playing with my brother's ZX81 on a black and white portable telly in the bedroom, to my whizz bang PS3 on a 40" LCD at HD resolution in my own lounge.

    happy days one and all

    here here Nexus!

Is it possible to even use an Amiga on a 32" HD ? Just thinking how bad Scart is, makes me shudder at how bad RF would be....

its a fair point - i think you would need to invest in at most a 20" crt to get the best out of the thing today!

on another point, i do believe the amiga and games of the previous generation to it had some of the most intriguing title ever. So much more exciting than most today.

Have a look through any games list and see what i mean. Usually though, the game didnt quite live up to the title promises....

The problem is orginality - they had the chance to create new things constantly, which in this day and age its hard to do as its all "been done before" in some way or form. Games like ICO are good and everything, but why someone hasnt made a game like Silly Putty, Brutal Football, or even an updated version of Syndicate is totally beyond me. (Syndicate on the ps1 was actually quite good)

I'll say it again: Ports of Call.

The two german guys that built it apparently suffered so much from piracy they hardly received a penny or a deutschmark. Now they're building a new pc 3d one (have for a while tbh) and should receive their pennies this time round in euros.

LeChuck's Revenge was 12 disks. I wouldn't want to have played that without a hard drive. I bet Fate of Atlantis was pretty hefty too, I can't remember how many disks it was though.

According to HOL, it's this: http://hol.abime.net/112

19 disks, for an obscure, adult, german game from 1995.

But for some more known titles, Beneath a Steel Sky came on 15 disks, while Rise of the Robots AGA came on 13 disks.

You'd think, but the Amiga format floppies had 880k space on them. Which means approcimately 9,5 mb if you filled all the disks to the brim.

My favourite for the manual was the first Midwinter. Not only did you get the main manual (with profiles of all the characters), but a novel and a pad of paper maps for you to... actually, I'm not sure what they were for, but having them was nice.

Frontier was also good, with its star chart and that.
