Strange text box problem

Can anyone help, recently whenever I type inside text box fields keys will not register. Ending up with me repeatedly tapping keys, although it seems to work if i type one-handed and use the other hand to click ahead of the text to refocus the field.

Its very frustrating, i have checked the keyboard but that turned out to not be the problem.
