The top threads on KiA right now (well, always) are pretty tragic. Like I'm feeling bad laughing at them, because while funny in their ridiculousness you realise a good portion of them actually take what they write seriously.

    IMDB sits at 4.8

When you consider all the nasty shit in the world....

I kind of like how there's about fifty billion threads about it, but you have to go back a dozen or so pages to find any vague discussion about the whole CSGO lottery stuff.

I am happy it is reviewing well. The trailers didn't do much for me, chiefly as I am not a fan of Feig's comedies in general. Just don't make me laugh very much.

But eh, fuck it, go for it if it's good.

@Gremmoo Yeah, they had SOME discussion about the CSGO thing but in the end gave zero fucks. Which is weird since they are so pro-ethics in gaming journalism - you'd think they'd be all over it right? Can't think why they'd just ignore it like this.

edit: They do have a stickied Ghostbusters 2016 megathread though. Ethics!

I love Ghostbusters. I love Ghostbusters 2. If this is good, I get another one. If not, it has in no conceivable way affected how I think of the other two and there's no harm done.

Fwiw, it doesnt really look like my cup of tea, mainly because I wasnt a huge fan of Bridesmaids or Spy. As opposed to, y'know, the fear that it will destroy an important part of my childhood and people thinking im a melissa mcarthy fan if I put on a t-shirt with a no-ghosts sign.

    Honestly..... sort your life out.
    Pretty much this.

The trailers look shit and my kids are too young to see it so I'll wait for it to come on Sky and then watch it if the buzz for it is positive. Ghostbusters was one of those 'Wow' movies of my childhood along with Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Co. I can't get this whole childhood destruction thing, the Star Wars prequels didn't change my feelings or memories of the originals, Crystal Fridge Nuke didn't time travel into the past to shit in my popcorn while I watched Raiders of the Lost Ark. Remake, reboot, prequel or sequel, none of them should have the power to harm prior art. It's all very silly.

I've actually not seen any of Feig's movies and I've only seen one of the main cast before, twice in supporting roles. It makes me kind of curious to see all of these unknown elements.

So from the reviews so far, it looks like its going to be average - fairly typical for a big summer blockbuster and not the total disaster that some were hoping for.

When the boulder almost crushed Indian Jones! Wow I still freak out. I know people are all why are you so into that film? geez you are a real kooky guy. But what can I say if you loved Indian Jones as much as me you would totally get it.
If they remade it with a woman as the lead, the fedora pyre would be visible from Mars

The Bollywood version was indeed superior in most aspects
It's was the big song and dance routine whilst that guys face was melting at the end that made it for me.

The Empire review says they play on the misogyny tropes. So yeah, fun! I wonder how many vagina and tit related jokes they do outside that one from the trailer?

Got a picture of myself with the Raptors when they did the same thing for Jurassic World.

Paul Feig wrote a few episodes of Freaks & Geeks, which is most excellent. I honestly don't see the point in hating someone, when it probably isn't your type of humour. There's plenty of people out there, that enjoy his films, and maybe they aren't for you? But no we have to have basement dweller arguments, that he's such a bastard, and he's shit..

I just said I dislike his films? Never said he was a bastard?

Besides, how do you know he's not a bastard though? Eh? EH?!
Well I wasn't directing it directly to you, but from some of the opinions I've read, it seems as if he came into your house at dinner time, and rolled out a steamer on your chicken.
