Found this thread while looking for something else. I found the book to be dull. It didn't help that my high hopes for the man (as President) were being steadily chipped away as it I read through it. I found myself putting it down more and more often, to the point where it didn't get picked back up again, sometime before his 2nd term election. Maybe I need to reset my expectation and try again, this time reading it as just another boy-done-good story, rather than as background material for a messiah. |
