Jumped back in after a few weeks off, was stick of failing first boss in Shrine of storms so went into stonefang tunnel, ended up beating Iron Spider Going into Valley of Defilement now, plan is to do the first part of each level before moving forward. Vaguely remember some of it from my original attempt at the game years ago and it's a pretty grim area, the chittering noises are driving me nuts |

Registered 12 years agoHad another successful day. Finished world 2, 3 and 4. I'm on 5-3 now but will continue tomorrow now. Still haven't got any weapons made with boss souls though. Managed to get quite a few spells from boss souls but no weapons yet. Maybe they will have to wait till ng+ -

Today I have put a lot of souls into strength and dex so that I could use the white bow. I have also beat the maneaters and the monk at the end of 3-3. Then went and rescued Biorr and beat the penetrator with his help.
My trusty Falchion is now +6 and my purple heater shield is +3. Also now have the soul ray spell using the doll idols soul. That's helped me out a bit on 2-2. Those bloody big bugs take too long to kill with any weapon I've tried against them. -

Don't worry about the meltstone. Upgrade the bow to +7 and make the lava bow with it. You could upgrade the composite bow to +3 and then spiderstone that. -

Talking of melting. My nerves and brain just melted from two hours in the tower of latria. Got to the fog gate and chickened it. Got a +3 mercury rapier and a +3sharp uchi that are doing me not bad.
Don't worry about the meltstone, you can still create the sticky bow from +4. But you may want to grab the compound bow and make that sticky. You need about 16 str I think but you should already have that if using the uchi.
Now you've reached the fog door, it's not too bad a run from the archstone, if you know where you are going! -

Registered 8 years agoJust done vanguard and got compound bow ready for sticky. Got shortbow at 3 for Lava. 2-2 soon I guess. Might try uchi for 2nd weapon -

Did valley of defilement (bloody plague rats) up until a huge guy with a club. Ouch. Dead. I was human as well. Oops.
The levels in this really are brilliant. I realise how much the likes of dark souls 2 is lacking in this department. They're so dark and sprawling. Really test the nerve moving through them. There was something huge and dark in latria, had no idea what it was but thank god I had a bow.
Also, that huge metal statue filled with death...

Registered 4 years agoOh the bow was used against the huge dark thing. The arrow machine was different. Both scared the crap out of me although found a way around the arrow machine and shut it down.
Yeah found a guy wanting to be left alone so I did. Should I kill him?
Still can't use the blue stone. It's greyed out in soul and human form. I'm def online. -
