I actually enjoyed RoboCop TV, Space Precinct and Airwolf too. That was back then though. I doubt I could sit through them now.

I remember Space Precinct. Thought it was fantastic back in the day. It's probably on YouTube now isn't it?

    Oh yes it is

Space: Above and Beyond is genuinely excellent, apart from a couple of slightly naff episodes (*cough* Duchovny). It's more Heinlein than Heinlein.

I loved Space Above & Beyond too. Chances are it's still on vhs tapes taped off the telly at my parents

Also one of the few times I've accepted 'future person likely C20th pop/rock music as a personality quirk/excuse not to have to invent new culture' in a sci-fi show

Can't believe that just got one season.
I remember Automan, I liked it. That little pixel that drew things for him to use. Cool.

Heh, Airwolf. The way I remember it every episode had the exact same plot: long buildup/standoff with another advanced military craft, then JMV did the one thing real helicopters can't, i.e. a loop, catches the enemy from behind and saves the day. The End. :)
Westland Lynx can do a loop. They couldn't use one of those in the series though because nowhere to put his cello. True story.

It was the most expensive show on tv at the time wasn't it?

But yes, that it didn't even get a TV movie to wrap things up nevermind a second season is a tragedy

Rumours at the time for its demise were regarding Independence Day having its own TV Show and they couldn't have two shows being similar so they canned S:AAB which was a crying shame.

Anyone remember the short lived comic that came out after the show ended? Even that got canned before it finished I believe.

I blame the tanks and chigs.

    Speaking of which...

    Voyager Endgame

Such a weird cop out for the finale of a seven season series. It feels more like it's TV movie released after the end of the actual series. Or perhaps fanfiction what with Seven and Chakotay boning and saving lost crew and all the Borg guff. Or like there's missing episodes either side of it to give us a real homecoming.

Overall Voyager has been a better series than I remembered it being. Not as cosy and familiar as TNG or as dramatic as DS9 but it's been solid with very few properly bad episodes and plenty of decent ones.

It's a tough call as to which show has a shitter ending, VOY or ENT.

Voyager's big problem is how rushed it feels. Even with all the core cast getting farewell episodes it's still a bit abrupt.

I haven't seen Enterprise's ending but since it was cancelled earlier than expected I'm guessing a similar problem.

Voyager's has a couple of tweaks which would make it pretty decent but the couple of missteps it has are fairly fundamental to the episode

On ENT, if you get through the first so many episodes, it really isnt that bad. I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. Also, the opening credits do improve a bit for later seasons. Still terrible, but they kind of make sense as part of what the series was trying to do.

I've not watched it since the original broadcast and my abiding memory is the shitness of the theme tune and the production values not feeling like the Trek I loved.

Plus it was in the T4 vortex of endless Sunday purgatory of shite like Smallville

T4 really had no fucking clue what to do with ENT. I avoided it at the time and it had the absolute shittest ending. Pretty sure several actors disowned it and said the penultimate episode is the actual ending.

As for Picard - fairly sure that's Patrick Stewart's actual dog. He got a rescue pitbull a few years ago. It means the show will probably be complete guff.

I get the feeling that Steward has had a lot of input on it, as much as fan as I am of him, I don't think that's a good idea. I very much hope to be wrong.

I'm heard that the particularly awful dune buggy scene in the generally awful Nemesis (worse than Abrams Trek imo) was Stewart's idea.

I have to go to Romulus to rescue these hostages. And I get there and I rescue them, but they're all women and they're naked because their clothes have rotted off. But I get them into the shuttle, and I'm flying the shuttle, but I can still sneak a look in the mirror and I can see everything, you know. One of them's bending over, two of them are kissing...

Seems Picard might tackle rescue dog of the week and lots of women whose clothes just fall off. Excellent.
