That wasn’t a bad episode. Quite Trek like. But they just couldn’t help themselves, though.

‘Goodbye background lady we hardly know, keep it real’

‘Goodbye, Micheal. You’re the best, most inspirational person I have ever met and the universe is lucky to have you’

I'm pretty sure the writers are doing it out of spite now.

The only thing I liked was the USS Nog.

There was a moment where I honestly thought his face was cgi.. interesting character, I hope he reappears.

Oh and the Admiral was in the Mummy films.

They spent a long time looking at the Voyager J, maybe they're making a new series of the Voyager-B with Ensign Captain Harry Kim

Yeah that was cool, I wonder if the crew are mostly Ferengi and how they work as a crew. Has the species had a personality change? Are there any feeemale Ferengi crew?

We'll probably never find out about these future ships as they just seem to be vague props.

I like the one with the mega-long warp nacelles. It looked like a chopper

I missed that trying to look at the shapes of all the ships

The Ferenghi first contact was in TNG so it’d be interesting to see the Discovery crew meet them. And to see how long if takes them to recognise how grateful they should be to have met someone as special as Burnham.

I hope they do something similar to Clara in Doctor Who and have Burnham go back in time and somehow be responsible for saving the Federation in each of the Star Trek series we’ve had until now. She’s just so perfect.

What a sexy refit! I like the new saucer, they removed some of the walkways to the central bridge section so it looks more floaty. Love that. Not sold on the detatched nacelles though, wtf? Why do you even need to have detatched nacelles? Curious to see how the model makers handle it... clear acrylic? Oh the new lights under the nacelles and on the belly are really cool looking

I was a bit worried that it was going pacifist with the lower body count over the previous couple of episodes but they more than made up for it in this one with all the pew pew and heads exploding.

I wonder if covid limits the amount of extras they can have on set as the scrap yard was laughably understaffed for it's massive size. This was even more evident in the escape scenes when there must've been only about 10 escapees lol They could have cgi'd in more people, I dunno... Tbf it has been a bit of star trek trope in the past, I still remember how laughably quiet the Enterprise was in TNG despite having over 1000 people on board

Did anyone else notice the horrible CGI facetuning in this weeks episode? When Stamets was talking to Not-Trill in the mess, they seemed to try and edit out her acne and it ended up, quite impressively, looking worse than Supermans Moustache.

It was genuinely the worst effect Ive seen on TV that I can remember.

Are they ever going to explain the new blonde crew member who seems to have appeared during their time travel trip? She wasn't in the previous series was she?

I'd love it to be something clever and she actually be a plot point.

I just rewatched that scene to see if I can spot (arf) it, all I noticed was a bit of heavy makeup on the left check to cover an abscess. Not defending it, I just don't notice any cgi

Lt Nilsson has been around since the last season, it's the same actress that played Airiam. She apparently had an allergic reaction to the makeup so they retired the character and recast the actress.

She’s done almost as much this season as the rest have across three.

Also, considering they’re Normans being taught how to use iPads they’re getting on pretty well with the new technology.

What did you watch it on? With HDR on an OLED, it looked like her cheek was a separate entity to her head.

I mean, it might have been makeup but it had absolutely no texture, just a floating smudge tool effect.

Doesnt really make a lot of difference in the grand scheme of things, I just thought it looked awful.

OLED, yeah that's what I noticed, but I assumed it was makeup, could be either really.

We'll probably start seeing Sonequa's baby bump from next episode as she was about 3 months pregnant halfway through the season shoot. Well actually, this is assuming they shoot the episodes in sequence, which they more than likely don't. Still, worth looking out for.

Hopefully it will also mean less screen time, too, which will probably tie in with the demotion.

They painted themselves into a bit of a corner with that one, though. By making it a Chosen One series, who else is going to be his second in command? Lieutenant That Guy or Ensign Button Pusher?

Tilly, not my first choice, but they've clearly been setting her up for it. It's a stupid promotion for somebody so green, but I see it happening. Personally I feel it should be Owosekun or Nilsson.

Michael after been bollocked and demoted: "Saru, you're doing the right thing"

His response really should have been "Its 'Captain' and I fucking know I did you disobedient, patronising fuck. You're lucky to still have a place on the ship."
