And that old admiral. And that shape shifting woman. And that borg. And so on. He got handled a lot.

Will Picard "belay" one more of Worf's commands just for the Lols?!

Michael Dorn has stayed in shape so we won't get fat worf at least! I sat that, but I ain't watching that shit regardless of who they dredge up!

No, in the proper future; Data lectures at Cambridge and Worf is old Klingon!

Giving Lower Decks another go and its not vibing with me at all

Like some of it would be fine as standalone sketches on a youtube channel or something but I’m not feeling it as a full show

Starts shit, becomes bearable and ascends to middling to fair.

I don't get all the love for it, but the first episodes are grueling.

I think part of the problem is it,s made by Rick and Morty and is nowhere near as good.

I does get better but the first few episodes drag on a bit

On s6 of DS9 now and apart from one clunker of episode, its actually good reminder of well written ST and other characters are fleshed out unlike STD.

I'm fairly indifferent to Lower Decks. I think it's clearly made by fans of the old shows, but that love mostly translates into occasionally obscure asides and references.

It's enjoyable enough and better than STD. Am I desperate to see more? Eh, it's not at the top of my list.

I thought it was ok, I just really struggled with the incessant babbling. I really struggle with things where the comedy confuses people talking really fast and never shutting up with snappy dialogue.

Yeah, I tried Rick and Morty but it's that kind of comedy I really dislike. It's very much "here's a hundred 2 star jokes instead of a dozen 5 star ones"

I did struggle to keep up with how quickly they spoke! 😆 But is that what the kids expect these days? It almost needs longer than the 20 odd minutes of run time each episode gets. At the very least it is the best of new shows, at the most it's the future of Star Trek!

I ended up doing a partial research of TNG. Just finished All Good Things this morning. Wow, it's good, better than I remember and I remember it being good. I hadn't watched most of it since first time around when I was a kid so alot of semi 'new' stuff. Brilliant.

Not without fault, but I can see why many see it as the best. One thing I hadn't noticed before was alot of the extras were reused which gave that bit more credibility, particularly of the bridge crew, more real. The characters were the strongest though.

If you had the choice of no films but more series, say 2 more which would you choose?

Well if they got decent writers and directors who don't despise Star Trek and understand it then it's the tv series all day long.

I wouldn’t want anymore TNG but a series set post-Dominion War would be my pick over any more movies

Yeah. As in a series 8 and 9 of TNG. Must say whenever have rewatched Star Trek it highlights the horror that is Discovery and Picard.

    ToS and STNG.

Everything else is a steaming barrel of forshak.

I'd like a Riker led TNG where he takes on the Picard role to a stubborn young officer. Or the adventures of Garak and Julian.

    Anything DS9, really.

I was going to suggest a show following Rikers teleporter twin.

Aren't they doing some mirror universe show? Maybe I misread an article.

An old and twisted Wesley as captain of a dysfunctional ship would be good. He would need to be back in his rainbow onesie though.

    And empty pizza boxes!

Voyager needs an extra season; maybe one day with CG characters!? There could be a excursion to retrace some steps. Maybe Nelix has become a powerful figure in a far flung part of the delta quadrant using stolen federation tech. Maybe Seska is the new Borg queen. Maybe the Dominion have decided to fill the void left by the Borg?

I wish I had three, one each for TOS, TNG and DS9. With only two, I'll give DS9 a pass because it sort of messed up its "universe" in the last season and I'm not sure if a follow up would work well. Part of me wishes season 7 wouldn't have happened. Sure, it could turn out well, but I'll go for TOS and TNG.

That is, TOS under the condition that they get rid of the sexism and give women proper roles, otherwise DS9 gets its season. Some things should remain in the past.

That's just about the best Star Trek idea I've heard in decades. I would definitely watch that.

Wesley, after choosing a life "floating amongst the stars" as a traveller, realises his life is empty, and he made a mistake leaving Starfleet.

After attempting to re-join Starfleet, but being refused due to age, Crusher uses his masterful knowledge of Starfleet's systems to steal a starship and go on an intergalactic bender.

... possibly with a reprogrammed Data.

It would be pretty boring as he's doing a lifetime of hard labour on some cardassian penal colony isn't he?

    That sounds like DS9 shenanigans.

Last time I saw him he was getting a trombone from Riker 1.

So look Picard wasn't perfect. It was a missed opportunity to saybthe least...

However I will be gobbling down season 2 like a ravenous Targ. Because Star Trek.

    Here's a (new?) trailer.
