Registered 11 years agoI'm going to have to create some space on the old PC if the client is as big as they say. I'm sure my internet provider will be happy too. -

Registered 11 years agoWell, the video was 1.20 GB off the bat. I've also noticed the staggered start, hopefully I'll get in the second wave at latest because 16:00 on a Sunday is probably not going to leave me much time to play it considering the servers will probably fall over for an hour. -
Downloading this at work... I figure they can handle the 30GB better than I -

Registered 13 years agoGot an invite for the weekend Skyrim was out, and another one now, but as I'm getting the game as a christmas present figured I'd wait. Annoying thing is I'm home for christmas, so won't be able to play until the 8 Jan anyway. Too much stuff to play at the moment anyway, can't remember the last time so many great games were released. -

I'm not sure how well the game will work for you. Some of your keys seem to stick and/or are in the wrong places so you'll have to work around some control issues. -

Registered 8 years agoDownloaded the client and installed the 20GB patch. Now when I try to launch the game, the Play button is disabled. So I, er, can't play it. Bugger. -

Registered 9 years agoI'm interested to see if this will actually run on my aging Dell XPS M1530. Hoping that the stylized graphical choice they landed on will enable lower (read: pure gash) machines to cope with it, ala WoW. -

Registered 11 years agoI'm thinking it'll probably be constantly falling over. It is a stress test after all. I wouldn't mind a couple of hours on it though, it'll probably sway if I buy it or not.
The fact I'm quite excited about playing it means I probably will be buying it mind. -

I'll let you know. I'm planning on playing this on a 4-5 year old macbook. Might not work, but I figured it was worth a go as I can download the client at work that way.

Registered 15 years agoDon't remember the graphics requirement, but the CPU needs to be an Intel Core Duo 2Gz or better from the system specs. -

A quick read up on this suggests my macbook is just below min spec for SWTOR. As I bought that in 2006, it should run okay on any fairly decent pc/laptop bought in the last 4 years. I'll still give it a go and see if it works. Doesnt hurt.
Don't remember the graphics requirement, but the CPU needs to be an Intel Core Duo 2Gz or better from the system specs.
Min specs:
OS - Windows XP, Vista/7
CPU - AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 2.0GHz or better
RAM - Windows XP: 1.5GB Windows Vista and Windows 7: 2GB PCs using a built-in graphical chipset, 2GB RAM recommended.
Video - ATI X1800 or better* nVidia 7800 or better* Intel 4100 Integrated Graphics or better*
DVD-ROM - 8x or better *Minimum of 256MB of on-board RAM and Shader 3.0 or better support.
Checking this against a Dell XPS M1530 suggests the 1530 will run SWTOR as its 2.2GHz, 2 or 4Gb RAM and the gfx card is Nvidia’s GeForce 8600M GT graphics card (with 256MB of video memory)

M1530 was a great little machine! Could handle oblivion at full pelt with no issues.
About on a par with a 360, maybe better. -

Registered 9 years agoCheers Witch; hopefully it will handle it then. It has actually been a perfectly adequate machine for gaming, but showing its age now alas. -

Registered 10 years agoUgh, this morning I downloaded about 5gb, paused the client and closed it thinking I would be able to carry on from where I left off but it's sent me straight back to the beginning. Guess i'll be leaving my PC on all night then. -
