Registered 14 years agoYeah, I kinda like them. Was the last one on the train, though.
I had "What, you haven't heard of Pendulum?" repeated to me ad nauseum a few months ago. -
I approve of them. -

Registered 15 years agoIn Silico makes a nice change from my usual collection of solo-heavy rock/indy. As with most bands that I like; some very good tracks mixed in with a few middle-of-the-road ones. -

Registered 16 years agoI find it interesting that they are accepted by metal fans these days, now that they are a "proper band". -
If, by "interesting", you mean "entirely predicatable" then yes, yes it is. -

Registered 18 years agoMy brother lent me In Silico and I really liked it (really divides opinion by the look of it!) so I bought Hold Your Colour. It's only then I went "Oh, it's THEM!".
Really, really like both albums although they are pretty different. -

Registered 16 years agoAll my friends who are really into D&B (from DJs to Producers) hate them.
My mate Jon calls them 'The Happy Hardcorers'.
I dont mind their remix of Voodoo people and a couple of tunes from hold your colour were OK, but that fucking synth WAAAAAAA they have in every tune does my head in. -

Registered 13 years agoTrail of Sevens was a good track though. Plus i remember hearing Vault out live when it was a brand new dub from that week pretty much, that "switch" bit - which is pretty standard stuff now - at the time was amazing. Got wheeled about 3 times i think, was in fabric. -

Registered 16 years agoThey are a live band with guitars and vocals. Its the act metallers can legitimately get off their tits and dance to. -

Registered 13 years agoPeople saying they are into dnb because they have a Pendulum record is akin to soemone saying they are into hardcore punk because they got the latest McFly. -

Registered 19 years agoIn Silico is poor. Hold Your Colour was alright in places. Their tracks from before then are generally good - stuff like Toxic Shock, Vault, Moving Forward, Spiral, Minds Eye and the pretty awesome Masochist.
They're not really dnb so much nowadays yet they still seem to get namechecked by anyone who wants to pretend they're into the genre. -
Personally I prefer In Silico to Hold Your Colour, but then I don't even pretend to be particularly into DnB.

Registered 14 years agoYeah, pretty much anyone who has any kind of knowledge or love for classic dnb and so on, just consider Pendulum to be a joke. -

I disagree. However there is one remix of it out there which manages to far outdo the original. And it's by one of my absolute favourite musicians, the frankly amazing Klayton (Celldweller, ex-Circle of Dust etc).
Celldweller remix of Propane Nightmares.
If you feel you have to play that tune, play the above remix instead.
