When was it decided that John Cena should be in things?
To be fair, if John Cena decided to be in you, I donít think thereís much you could do about it.

IT'S HERE. You've got the normal cast minus The Rock's beefs with Vin but added beef with JOHN CENA, the return of a dead character somehow, and... wait, did I hear you say that you wanted cars flying on ropes and cars getting magneted up in mid air by stealth bombers? WELL THAT'S WHAT YOU GET.

It's a movie about family... literally!

I really love how this series has realistically progressed. Beginning with some people who raced their modded Vauxhall Novas down the local High Street and stole merchandise from delivery trucks all the way to driving in a jungle and Tarzan roping off a cliff to chase a Stealth bomber with a magnet on it.

Like I've said before, they're superhero movies. Where everyone's superpower is being an impossibly good driver, and their weapons are cars.

I would call it the driving version of Overwatch. Von Diesel's Ultimate is driving through fire, rolling his car for 20 minutes and climbing out unscathed.

    Oh and family. FAMILY.

I saw them filming the stunt scenes in Edinburgh outside my work. Was a fun game of "which potato head stunt man is which potato head actor?"

Even superhero films are more grounded than this nonsense now

@Decks I don't mind him as an actor, nowhere near as bad as some wrestlers-turned-actors (basing this entirely off his performances in Blockers, Bumblebee and Daddy's Home 2) - he's inoffensive, at least.

Now, to my problems with this trailer:
    - for someone who values family so much that he uses the word four thousand times a day, it's amazing that we're only this year finding out he has a brother (John Cena) and a cousin (checkout the Netflix animated series).
    - that song was for Paul Walker (or at least later associated only with him), shameful that they'd redeploy it for a quick buck.
    - John Cena and Vin Diesel being related is maybe the most ridiculous thing in this entire franchise. Also, stop leaning so hard on the family thing! Fast 10 will just be a roundtable discussion where it's revealed every character in the franchise is related to each other, Helen Mirren is their mum and Kurt Russell their dad.
    - if this film isn't doing flashbacks, then nothing means anything anymore. Han's death was the driving force of the last act of the third movie and the entirety of the seventh. We'll probably get a post credits scene featuring Gal Gadot's character picking herself up off the runway from three movies ago.

Remember when Jackie Chan's big thing was doing his own stunts? Those were the days.

(not that he could really do much of the crazy stuff now anyway, guy's in his mid-60s)

I don't understand who they think the audience would be.

I mean it looks like it cost a fortune. But the yoof simply don't give a fuck about Chan or Arnie. Especially the decrepit versions.

I would guess the target audience is Dads our age who drag the family along.

Problem is it looks like a terrible film.

    It's going to bomb. Hard.

15 year old me would of spunked at a trailer like that but I'm a cynical older fart now. If I shook my head any harder watching it I would've given myself whiplash.

Didn't even make it through the trailer. I enjoyed the recent Jackie Chan vs the IRA movie and Arnie was even alright in the latest Terminator, but fuck this.

Lovecraft country. The book is phenomenal, Jordan Peel is involved. Not even JJs involvement can lessen my excitement

The book is fan fucking tastic. Written like aTV series in a way. Has the same cast out on different adventures that sometimes cross paths. The author has clearly played a lot of RPGs and read a lot of pop culture.

At the same time I've never ever come close to learning so much about Americas rotten modern history as in this one. I wonder if the Watchmen TV series would have existed if Lovecraft Country had never been published.
