NeoGAF has a very good off-topic forum and there are some great threads like Majesco's 2D Fighter, crazy techniques screenshot thread, that's kept me entertained for ages recently. There's the thread where TFU posted the Ocarina of Time 44 minute promo vid which is fantastic nostalgia.
NeoGAF is big and the two sides O-T and Gaming are very different, sure threads can descend into repetition and dross but just like here there's some threads that just make your day.

EG's my first love though.

Yeah, I agree. For most of the time I've been registered there I've only posted on the OT forum. Everyone gets on well, but people get the piss taken out of them when necessary. It's usually amusing, especially the shop threads. And it is like two forums. Most people tend to stick to one, though most people will still post a little on the other.
The OT forum is usually not modded an awful lot too which is good.

The gaming forum is a mixed bag.

I started using the gaming forum again mainly for the little big planet threads and there are some decent people.

The shit fest threads are a mess though. I always get sucked into posting nonsense and end up getting banned. I do think the moderating is better than here though. At least cunts stay banned.

They do ban for pointless shit though. A few days ago when a number of sony fans were banned, some where banned for complaining about a crap thread.
The mod banned the OP too for the thread being crap though. WTF?
He also perma banned a pretty decent poster just because he said Gaf was getting more like gamefaqs.
