Nasal decongestant, allergy eye drops and double dose hayfever tablets season again. No fun trying to sleep drowning in your own snot.

Felt fucking gross for the past week. Round the in laws today, while everyone's outside, I stepped out and it was like hitting a brick wall. Throat is dry and itchy despite swallowing phlegm for a week, nose completely blocked and eyes feel like someone rubbed a bouquet in them.

Does anyone react worse to tree pollen? Always seems to be a killer if I trim some of our trees back.

Is anyone else sneezing and streaming like absolute fuck? Canít work out whether this is just a cold or if thereís some plant bastard fucking with me.

@smoothpete took the day off yesterday, it got so bad. Only happens in the office. Got recommended some meds, will see how it works out today. Itchy eyes tipped me off to it being an allergy instead of a cold.

Oh god, I hate that itch.

It may be a combination of both.

I'm coughing up phlegm and was hocking it into the bin, sorry. But I think the cleaner has taken protest and there's no liner in there now.

They took our desk bins away. So unfortunately for me, I'm also having to swallow all the hocked up lung butter.

Either your place of work has adopted a much greener recycling & anti-plastic approach or she hates you.

Funny story, the cleaners (in a time/money saving exercise) used to empty the bins by hand. And by hand I mean put their hand into the bin to scoop up the contents to put into a bin bag. An ungloved hand.

Like I said, used to. Reminded me of the opening scene in Ghostbusters.

    Anyway, lovely day isn't it?

If you haven't started taking hayfever tablets by now, it's already too late.

Started? I've been suffering since February (Hazel & Alder).
It settled down a few weeks ago but there's a noticeable spike again now with Birch trees getting ready to shed a few thousand tons of pollen. :-/

Mine has kicked in badly today. With the pleasant weather from the past couple of days, it's like the pollen has exploded. Runny nose, wheezy chest, watery eyes, swollen throat and aching eardrums. Yup, it's started.

Bastard birch pollen has arrived, levels not too high but will steadily rise now. Shittiest time of the year.

Yeah I had very mild asthma this morning which usually only happens around hayfever season. Had loads of fun thinking REALLY HARD about whether it was "normal" asthma or were my lungs hurting at all?

My lungs are hurting, but I had a chest infection last week. This, today, is hay fever - and damn has it struck with a vengeance.

Wheezy, shallow breaths, itching eyes, runny nose, sore throat. I feel "fine", so it's not a virus or anything - to a non-sufferer I can only describe hay fever as being like someone throwing a fistful of pepper in your face every day, every hour between sunrise and sunset for 6 months, and you never get used to it.
Basically, our immune system freaks out at all the plant sperm coursing through our veins and goes into shock. That's the official description taken from the NHS website. Or not.
