Every game these days is more of the same, only a few publishers are taking risks with new IPs, that comment really is stupid tbh. If your not used to "more of the same" by now, you should give up your console and take up "cow tipping" instead.

Uncharted was a new IP. On a new console.

Also stop quoting fuckheads I've ignored, its most irritating.

Uncharted is a new IP that borrows bloody heavily from previous games. You might have played them.

Oh right, so the "New IP = good" rule only applies to something completely original?

I'm hardly the biggest fan of Uncharted but I would consider it silly to classify it as any more 'unoriginal' than other games which provide similar types of game play.

    that's why uncharted is meh.

I disagree, it does all the things its borrowed so much better than the originals from graphics, story art direction, combat etc.

    IMHO o/c

@absolutezero, so you take a tomb raider game and replace the main protagonist with a man, you call that a new IP?

Uncharted is easily the most enjoyable action/adventures I've played in recent years. To me DcP729UK comments is just... meh.

I thought it was very entertaining for the first few hours but suffered due to repetition. I was glad to get to the end to be honest as the combat in particular started to get a little stale. I really hope they can find ways to combat this in the sequel (combat! - do you see what I did there?).

That's a pretty simplistic way of looking at it. The character has his own personality, his own background, friends, love interest etc. Let's face it Tomb Raider has gotten a bit stale, it was a good IP for Playstation but now it's time for fresh blood.

Don't get me wrong I don't hate you DcP, its more that every single one of your posts is something akin to white noise. Not one has ever been worth the time I spent reading it. So its just better for them not to be there.

Every one of his posts reads like this:

PS3 is bad, 360 is good. But don't think I'm a fanboy, ya see I have both, I am IMMUNE!

    To me anyway.

That's about 95% of the posts in PS3 related threads.

hey that's kinda right when it comes to multiplat titles. also the 360 pad >>> PS3 pad. ;)
  • Deleted user 18 December 2008 12:28:01
I often find that 360 owners complain about the sixaxis being too light, if you just tape 2 AA batteries to the back of it they stop complaining...makes it nearly as high tech as the 360 pad.
  • Deleted user 18 December 2008 12:33:50
it's the shape rather than weight that i prefer. the PS3 pad is too small.

Read the feature on this in Edge - it sounds amazing. A copy of Uncharted 1 with a different story would have been fine by me - the new story, physics etc sound brilliant. I think I said it in this thread before, but this is easily a full price release day purchase for me.

yeah agreed phoenix, naughty dog are one of the true shining developers left, I am so happy to have them working on ps3 exclusives, Games that in my opinion rival anything on my xbox 360 including gears of war.

Agreed. Looks awesome and I luurved Uncharted!

To me Naughty Dog (and Insomniac) are one of a few developers who have made the transition between last and next gen a positive one in terms of the quality of their output (just look at what happened to Free Radical Design[Deceased]!)
