Apologies if there's another official thread for this, I searced everywhere.

Anyway the original was outstanding, by far the best game on the wii in 2008 but there are definitely areas it could improve in and if it did we could be looking at a game of the year for 2010 ( it's a shame we have to wait that long)

    Here's what I'd like to see;

    - A large, prettier overworld. Not even so much the graphics as making it a little less dull with some obscure billboards, crazy streets, etc.
    - Customisation options for Travis's hair and gloves and shizz.
    - More uses for the vehicle, and customisation options. Give us more fun here
    - Generally longer story mode with more missions given to you after you've completed it
    - Throw in some full length side quests
    - Funner mini-games. I liked how the mini-games were intentionally monotonous for comedy effect in the original. Meh, this one isn't so important.
    - Oh and keep up the fantastic dialouge and story :)

I'm not sure I want to be longer. I know the creator in question can do it, because he has presided over long games before, but I don't want him to cave into pressure and make a longer game, with a lesser story that must be stretched to fit it in.

If I had a choice of what to include in a No More Heroes, it would be up the videogame references to an even more noticeable level and really start to go to town on the criticism of videogaming culture.

Well, not make the story much longer. Have it pretty much the same as last time, then throw in a few super difficult missions for desserts as a bonus.

Oh one part they should make longer, or harder, or give more depth are the fight scenes. Sure they were fun but all those crazy power ups were barely implemented. God if the boss design is even better than this than it was in the original I might love this.

And you're pretty much guranteed more cultural references.

I would like to see a sniper rifle. It is always fun to snipe stuff.

And Shenmue-esque dojo sections where you flail your arm around to learn new attacks. But I already mentioned that.

A more interesting over world. The golden square or what iut was called behinf the gym was cool.
    More little nooks like that.

I've only played one game of Suda's that was obviously a sequel to an earlier game and it was so completely different in every way that I'm not sure that will be the case for this one if he keeps steady with that kind of design for a sequel.

Uh-huh a few NPCs roaming about the over world would be good, in NMH all the characters had so much personality so it would be a shame not too.

And a sniper rifle, or scope sections at all? That genius :D Maybe a few sections were you slice enemies whilst on your motorbike, I know that sounds generic but I'm sure they could make in unique.

I cannot be enthused by this unless they fix the awful graphics, collision detection, hub environment and collectables from the first game.

Ooh! It would be cool if there was UFO catcher element where Travis can collect little character figurines to decorate his room with.

And I know its supposed to take place more in a American-type of setting, but a Ryu Ga Gotoku-like flirt with hostesses at a bar element would be awesome just to see Travis come up empty and strike out any number of ways.

You know, the more I think about it, the more Travis feels like a this generation version of Leisure Suit Larry.

Instead of having mini-games that are given to you, have mini-games breaking up missions and at other random times instead of being so formulatic. Yes a dating game in a bar would be brilliant. Say the wrong thing and the woman goes angry anime style and kicks Travis out of the boor and into the sky, or something equally ridiculous :D

The more I read about this game, the more curious I am, but I think I want to hold off for the impending sequel with the promise on improving over the original...

The style was good, but it still managed to look ugly and unfinished. There's no reason it can't do the style properly and still make its silly pretentious point about videogames design.

Well it's been announced that an extreme version with blood is being released in Europe which is good news.
And you have a year to wait. I'd recommend you play the first one first, highly enjoyable, cheap and you can base your decision on whether to buy the sequel or not on if you enjoy the original or not.

It depends on what way you look at the game, don't be expecting something bulky with a lot of depth. The most simple way to describe it would be a fun, stylish experience. I feel it's a little overhyped and there is certainly room for improvement but I'd nonetheless whole heartedly recommend it because there's nothing quite like it.

I'm sure the low rez textures and noticable pop-in/up was due to budget restrictions/HW limitations rather than some post-industrial self referencing prancing

Not to sound too ungrateful but sometimes I really wonder how hard it is to hold down the pages while taking pictures.

The game looks samey. Still early days I guss. Is that the same Silvia?
I just realized I can't remember the end of NMH...

I think a while back there was some kind of dispute about scans of Famitsu finding their way into the web (mainly neogaf I believe), so I guess that's why they use photos now. I could be wrong though.

Wrapping up? Good golly. Well well, I'm all for trashy exploitation games.

I agree. I really liked NMH thanks to the fresh gameplay and stylish artwork, but it was all in spite of the dreadful presentation. I wont be able to suspend disbelief over another game if I find myself having to take 3 panadol just to look at the screen again.

NMH 1 really did look like graphical roadkill.

Woah! Who's that huge dude Travis is fighting?

Sure they're only early screens so I won't pass judgement yet. The environments looked pretty repulsive in the original, but the lighting effects, characters etc. looked lovely I thought.

I loved being able to use wrestling moves in the original but they felt kind of tacked on and I hated how it was totally random which move he used. Still, you got to tombstone piledrive people mid-fight, can't complain really

I think the minigames either need to be fleshed out or got rid of. That one where you had to waggle to fill the gas tanks. Sheesh.

Yeah, but I loved the presentation too, odd as it may sound. :)
