| That's odd to see a Japanese developed game come out in Japan so late. I wonder if they've made any improvements to the US and PAL versions... |

Anyway, fired this up. Forgot how damn right crazy this shit is.
Played up to the first guy - Nathan Copeland I think. He was awesome. -

Registered 20 years agoI got the game pretty much when it was released here.
And I was... disappointed.
For one the first game really hit a spot for me and the second part just felt like a run of the mill sequel (the same as part one but more of it). I did not connect to the story. I thought that the execution (no pun intended) of what motivates Travis did not really work and everything else felt somehow forced.
I also really liked driving to my destinations and just using the map took away the sense of place that the first game had.
In a similar vein the fights themselves were also a bit hit and miss. Mostly miss in hindsight. I pretty much remember every single Boss from No More Heroes but I have trouble remembering the ones from Desperate Struggle. There were lots of memorable moments and Suda's lovable crazyness but to me it felt diluted. And the revenge plot and the main plot don't feel connected at all.
I am still stuck fighting one boss maybe half way through the game and I have to yet return and finish it. -

Registered 12 years agoI think there's another thread which people used. Anyway I really enjoyed this, if it had retained the overworld I'd easily rate it over the original. -

This just plopped thru my letter box. Can't wait. -
Has everyone playing the game in here already played the original? I'm curious how people react playing the two games in reverse, I found DS a bit of a disappointment (don't get me wrong, still enjoyed it a great deal though) after the original was one of my all-time favourite games.
