repeat the process to get very rich.
Kind of defeats the whole purpose of the game - IMHO, of course. It's not like it's incredibly difficult to earn bells anyway. -

Registered 20 years agoAlright, calm down. Let's not discuss the lameness of someone who has to cheat at a game, that only requires a little work each day to acquire a small fortune.
I got an email from the manufacturer of the USB Memory Card.
Thank you for your email.
We have tested the Japanese version and it works. As for the US version, we do not have it and so we cannot be sure. However, there shouldn't be much difference with the US and JAP versions.

Virginia

Thanks sam - so in principle, if we start the game on the USB memory card, we can exchange data via e-mail?
Right. Well I guess what we're going to have to do is visit Mr Resetti & all start from scratch again once we get our USB cards!.gif)
/me is glad, me is getting so p1ssed off reading about you lot having Animal Crossing fun while I twiddle my thumbs...
Maybe those that have made progress could start afresh and then give all the stuff they've got to their new guy in his his new town... If they want to. -

anyone any idea how long it takes trees to grow?
About 3-4 days I think. I recommend planting them in an out-of-the-way place so that you and/or other villagers don't trample all over the saplings... -

Ah but think of the benefits.
Got a scheduled task but are planning to go out that night. Email it to one of us plonkers and we can do it for you?
Want rid of someone? We'll have the towns that they can travel to.
Tired of knocking cherries off the trees, why not spend a week knocking pears off the trees?
One thing that does concern me is the fact that we might need two USB cards because not only are we going to be transferring our own cards data but also other people's.
Shall I email them again and tell them to look at this thread? -

Registered 20 years agoduncan - I'll send you some peaches and coconuts. And trees take about 3-4 days to be fully grown I think.
Managed to feck up sending pyramidbuilder a NES game last night.. mixed up his name and town, didn't notice till after I'd sent it. So if someone wants to start a character called dudesvan in the town of treebee then there's a copy of Clu Clu Land in it.
I'm going to need to fire up MS Project just to keep track of all the things I need to do in AC.
name:Jiro
town:NeoTokyo -

Registered 20 years agoDamn Nook hasn't had any rods in stock yet, despite me buying every net and shovel I can get my hands on.
Last night my 6yr old started his town..
name: Bob (even 6yr olds are aware of the comedy value of that name, it seems..)
town: HapiLand (aww.. HappyLand wouldn't fit)
Man! Does his character have scary eyes or what! Yikes. And his trees are laden with oranges.. Mmm! Will have to import some. And the guys in his town are cool, he's got alligators and scary Racoons n stuff.. mine's is full of sheep. -

To save me reading the manual(!) how do I add another character to my town? The wife wants to join in.
You just start up the game, and when whatever animal talks to you in the beginning asks for your name, choose the "I'm new" option. Simple as that. -

Mine did!
I started playing the game, asked her if she wanted to make a character as well - "Come on, it's really fun!" - she vehemently declined. So I thought oh well.
A few days later, I was playing AC, she watched me play for a while and then went "OK I'll make a character too. But I WON'T be playing after that, at least not much". Guess what - yeah, totally hooked.

I think I might put a special effort into this one though. -

Registered 20 years agoMy theory is this: all women love interior designing and wearing/owning/buying lots of different clothes.
So, as soon as you get your SO introduced to those aspects in Animal Crossing, she's in the game..gif)
(just be prepared for her hogging the GameCube for hours on end... the price you have to pay and so on) -

So tell me.. when you have your partner move in, does the game give you more spades, fruit and holes in the ground? and what about Nook.. does he sell two of everything?
I _think_ there are more holes in the ground, but otherwise I don't think there's more stuff. And as for Nook, there's still just one of each item ('xcept for stationery or course) - so it's a case of first come first served, which I'm sure will lead to lots of interesting arguments in the future.

Yeah perhaps I'll ask for her input in the pattern stage* and see what she thinks....

Do you think women would understand how to use Freeloader though? It's a bit technical...
*hastily constructs nuclear bomb shelter*
I tried explaining it to the missus, but she refused to listen ...but she said I have to show her how to use it some time so she can play when I'm not home.
I'm sure she'll have no problem learning to use FL, it's not exactly rocket science is it

It's like foundation when you're doing your make-up for a big night out. If you've got Japanese or American make-up to put on you have to use the Freeloader Foundation Factor by putting the disc in and telling Freeloader what make-up you are going to be wearing. But, if you're going to spending the night with a European game then you don't have to have a foundation*.
*This should not excuse them from wearing make-up when going out with you.
