I know this is a bit early, but we're going to Ireland tomorrow and can't bring the Christmas presents with us due to baggage allowance etc, so we had an early Christmas morning today and opened the stuff we'd received so far. I did pretty well Laurel & Hardy box set \o/ \o/ \o/ been wanting that for ages but never mentioned it to Rutty so it was a great surprise Books about painting and drawing, Portuguese dictionary I really needed, and Northern Exposure season 1 from my groovy in-laws Gorgeous handbag from one of my bosses who has great taste Other stuff that was good was these candle light things which are rather cool, a CS Lewis book (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) translated into Spanish, cos I loved them as a kid, nice soap, oh and one of the girls at work took a leave out of my book this year (I hand-make a lot of presents and they are often edible ones) and made us some little Algerian cakes that I forget the name of but they are lemony with cinnamon and were fantastic. I am a happy camper now. Tell us what you got! |
So what did you get for Christmas?

Registered 18 years agoI know most of mine too - I bought mine from the missus (to make sure I got the right one), and guessed the joint present from my parents and the in-laws (a full length wool coat, wicked). Only guessed as I quizzed the missus about what she bought in M&S, she wasn't very convincing!
Pretty much just presents from the brother-in-laws and my sister to get now. I'm guessing at a shirt/jumper from my sis and either a PS3 game/blu ray from the b-i-ls! -

Registered 15 years agoWe had a limit too only ours was £60. Laurel & Hardy was a bargain from the EUK (RIP) staff shop and I'm also getting £30 towards a painting class I'm doing in the new year. And I got Rutty Left 4 Dead (early present as he got it a week or so ago) and Singstar Abba (which he wanted, honest!) and a Red Dwarf novel that I could only find second hand so it doesn't really count. -

Registered 16 years agoMy work secret santa got me a nifty mug warmer that keeps my coffee hot for up to an hour longer that's powered via usb, and a bottle of sparkling wine.
I've had my main xmas gift from El_MUERkO - the Sony TG3 HD Handycam. I posted my first video from it in this thread earlier.
I don't think I need anything else for christmas now.

Registered 15 years agoI forgot about my work secret santa, I got a photo album and a really really nice jewellery box, the person who picked my name knows me very well.
I like the idea of those coffee warmer things, but my coffee never lasts more than five minutes or so anyway before I've guzzled it and am wondering when another mug will appear on my desk to replace it. -

Registered 19 years agoI bought myself a Sony KDL-40W4000, a DAV-DZ260 and it came with a free BDP-S350 Blu-Ray Player. With cables and whatnot, very close to £1000 for what is a very fun AV experience, for a non-tech-nutter like me.
Without a doubt the most expensive Christmas I've ever had, especially as to 'balance it up' I am taking the Mrs away on an all-inclusive holiday in some Wintersun in January, approaching another £700.
