Is it one of those colour changing ones? Yeah, eventually even if you hand-wash them the decal becomes detached then sides off. If the base colour also goes black-white you'll still have that though.

    Edit: Re FakeBlood's emoji mug.

The only gaming related gift I received was the hardback Art of Fire Emblem Awakening which I'd wanted for a while and is gorgeous. It has all the support dialogue in the back too.

Well thing is we don’t buy gifts for the adults in the family, so what we do is we all buy a £10 gift, then we play a game and the first to win gets first choice of all the crappy gifts.

I bought a £10 electric heater, I hope it burns their house down.

Who was it who got a new tray? Any updates on how it's going ten days on?
It's going rather well, thank you! It's full of lego bricks now, the young one has put it to good use while building *his* Christmas present. I'm not jealous in the slightest.

@janos what about the plates you got? Surely the plates were going to get in on that sweet tray action?

They must be confused as to why the Lego gets all the special attention

    Slippers.
    A nice bottle of scotch.

And an “authentic” Japanese cookery book. Just made my first karage which actually came out... ok. Nowhere near as good as in Japan, but not too bad for a first try. Problem is nearly all the recipes need ingredients that are fucking hard to find.

Mostly unexciting stuff (yay slippers! OMG socks!), but did get a couple of Steam and PSN Store cards. Used the Steam cards to nab myself Assassin's Creed: Odyssey and Warhammer Mechanicus. Used the PSN card to pre-order Kingdom Hearts 3.

    Could be worse.

Nope. From my brother. That is why is was just so weird. I got two books for Christmas. Japanese cooking and my eg secret Santa of a book about motorbike tours. I step outside and meet Ayumi who was saying how she misses her bikes and touring.

It was like the start of a rom com.

But actually ended with just getting her name and her going inside while I finished my smoke. As much as it was a Christmas miracle I thought it was nice just to meet her and not be sleazy.

Oh, I also got a shitload of alcohol, albeit much of it of the novelty variety. Mind you, I tried some of the toffee-vodka liqueur at lunch time and it wasn't bad, in a horribly-oversweetened kind of way.
