Was supposed to see some friends last night but cancelled due to covid... We managed to play drawful over Steam remote play together (pay local multiplayer online, only need the host to have the game - was really easy, they'd never used Steam before but just installed on a laptop, set up an account and it worked great)

Is Witcher 2 any good? It's 2 quid on steam at the moment.

The Stay Inside bundle on Steam seems like a great deal if you're one of the five people who haven't bought Binding of Isaac yet!

It has an interesting world, characters and story like Witcher 3, if that's a reference. It'll help you understand some of the things that happen in the sequel a bit better too.
It's not open world though and a lot shorter than W3.

Many people hated the combat though; I wasn't exactly a fan myself either. Playing on the lowest difficulty can largely remedy that.

I'd say it's solid enough, just don't expect a W3 level of quality.

The Witcher 2 really requires two playthroughs to see all it has to offer though. The entire second chapter of the game is different depending on what you choose at the end of the first chapter...

And combat is alleviated by upgrading your shield sign...

Well worth 2 quid at any rate if you have even a passing interest...

    Oooooodriiiinnnnn....

I have been tempted by this as I really liked the original BoI and the Vita Revisited port. For some reason I didn't enjoy it as much on PS4... Thought about getting it on Switch but passed so far. Wonder if this will run on my aging Linx Vision tablet...

Ubisoft is giving away some free games including (supposedly good) Child of Light. You will need to install uPlay though.

Also, the Council is free on Steam - the first ep.
    The Council.
Only play if you're not scared of ugly faces like I am.

Cheers. I grabbed this as I don't actually have BOI on pc. I do have over 200 hours on the switch version though. Already owned bumbo and a couple of others so price was just over £11 for me.

Been enjoying the free weekend of Kerbal Space Programme. I've always wanted to try it. After a weekend of failure, I discovered the what the T key does, i.e. SAS, and I'm enjoying it a lot more now.

Ah awesome mate, just what I need. I've been watching Matt Lowne play it, I forgot he mentioned that Scott Manley had tutorials. Genuinely, thank you!

Metro: Exodus down to £17 for the base version. Hmmm, worth it?

As I'm now stuck back home with my PC, I thought I'd catch up on a few titles I missed whilst away travelling. 1080ti should still do 1440p okay, yeah?

Its on Xbox Gamepass, if you arent bothered about it being in your steam library, so you could get it for the cost of a months sub. I bounced off it pretty hard, I found the survival elements tedious and the voice acting is atrocious, but other people seem to love it so ymmv.

Hopefully this isnít a bad thread to ask this on. I know Iíve asked in the past, but Iím never sure I have remembered the correct or most relevant answers, so sorry in advance!

Since my ďproperĒ gaming PC (graphics card was a 770, IIRC) blew up, Iím back to console gaming on the PS4 and 3DS.

But I still have a standard laptop (no proper graphics) and also an iMac from many years ago.

Is it possible to find games on Steam that will run on these things? The only games I have successfully played on them have been stuff on Spectaculator, Oolite, Baldurís Gate II, etc.

What are my chances? Is it easy to identify what will run?

    Cheers :)

Into the Breach! The one and only game you'll need.

A lot of Xseed games are pretty low spec (and run on Windows tablets) so they are worth a look if you like JRPGs. Otherwise depending on the exact spec I managed to get things like Fallout New Vegas and Doom 3 and Rage run on an Atom tablet.

(if the spec is anywhere close to a GPD Win there are a lot of guides for what will run and how to configure them for it which will be a nice start (I am stuck with an older cheaper Linx Vision))

I think pretty much the same spec as mine but with more internal storage on yours (if you have 4GB RAM that opens you up to a bit more too). Even so some things that say they require 4GB don't so just try things out. But anything that runs on a GPD Win 1, we are slightly lower spec than so gives you an idea (not the much more powerful Gpd Win 2 though). Axiom Verge was another than ran really nicely too.

That is amazing for the money theyíre asking! The only problem is that I already own most of the games I want to play on that list...

Doom Eternal currently £27 on cdkeys if you've been in "wait for a sale" territory with it.

Ye, quite temped now that I'm actually back home with my gaming PC. Also see that Sekiro is now 35% off on Steam as well, following on from its Humble discount the previous week.

I've missed so many big games since I've been away travelling: is Devil May Cry 5 worth £14? Code: Vein? God, it's nice to be back with my 1080TI :)
