Yeah very weird it should run like shit off a shovel on a 4870x2 as the benchmark thread shows.

I was slightly out with my 100fps comment, it "only" averaged 90ish, I'll have to give it a go with my 5850.

I get the same frame drops and horribleness from RE5 aswell so im kinda used to it. I seem to recall getting silly frame rates from the benchmark but then on certain stages in the actual game it would just move into slow motion.

Damnit, SF4 doesn't run well on my macbook or my ageing PC. Looks like it's time for a new build :( \o/

hmm - does anyone have suggestions for games similar to freespace 1 & 2, or that game colony wars from ye olde psx days? all i can seem to find are micromanagement type strategy games.

Hmmm, ideally I want to run it in 1900x1200. Would a 4870x2 be fine?

Hmmmm, Freelancer, Privateer, DarkStar One ( or is that the TBS one? )... erm...

Quick Q of my own: Anyone know what DRM is on the "Dredd vs Death" game? I just went to install it and a EULA popped up so now i'm concerned that there's a limited install with it. I want to download it here at work on our phat internets and then back it up and take it home to install so that i don't murder our bandwidth, same as i do with all Steam games. I can't find any info though.

There is no DRM on DvD. That EULA thing is popping up on the installation of every single game now, it seems.

Oh, i installed the Jedi Knight pack and they didn't have that EULA notice, weird.
Sod it, i'll install and backup like i always do, i've got it on xbox so i'm under no illusions it's a good game but for £1.70 odd, who cares? :)

    Thanks, M_E

Republic Commando was worth the original retail price I paid for it, so definitely worth £3.50

This is completely left field, because actually it's nothing like those games, but Space Rangers 2 is the best game ever created which features spaceships. Also I doubt it's even on Steam! Nevertheless, it is a game everyone should play.

I bought GTA IV in the Steam sale for some ridiculously small amount of money, in fact I think they may have paid me to take it. Alo the Time Gentlemen Please pack because I heartily approve of people making games like that so I wanted to increase the sales figure - that I get a game to play is actually a bonus. It's the same reason I bought the Gratuitous Space Battles beta, and while it may not make sense to everyone it works for me.

Man the Steam sale is brutal on my willpower - and I just bought 3 games from BigFishGames (I have a weak spot for IHOGs)only a couple days ago.

So now I've just bought Zombie Shooter 2 (£1.74) and Titan Quest Gold (£4.99), and have the Shadowgrounds pack (£2.79) in my cart. I'm hovering over the buy button for Twin Sector, but I'm not too sure.....
