@DUFFMAN5 I'll definitely be on at some point this weekend man, but not entirely sure when! Hopefully later this evening for a bit.

I'll be reinstalling BL2 for that new DLC then- great stuff. Wonder if the new rainbow rarity will be unique weapons/red flavour text or just even better stats on existing legendaries.

Regarding the "can it be played solo" question from the previous page... I also solo'd the whole series over several hundred hours- but I did find that in the late game in BL2, my Zer0 became a bit of a glass cannon who would have worked better in co-op with someone else to draw fire.

Some of the characters are much more obviously designed to aid solo play, like Axton with his aggro-drawing turrets or the mechromancer who's basically like co-op with an AI.

I beat all the raid bosses as Zer0 so... equipment and skills build I imagine are important, and play style. Hyperius, admittedly, took a fair few attempts before I cracked it.

How does saving work in this? Does it save everytime I bump into one of those camera things? I saved and quit at a point last night but when I started back earlier this morning it dumped me back at the boat.
Yes, you can also save and quit anywhere and it will save whatever you picked up but when you restart it will place you at the beginning of the area/map you in, at least I think that is how it works, it does on the previous games I have played.
All your equipment, XP, skills etc. are saved whenever you come across a new-u station (=checkpoint) or quit the game. Mission progress (as in, which objectives have been completed) is saved as well.

However, after quitting the game you will respawn at an earlier point and all enemies are respawned too. You will always respawn on the same map, at the last fast travel station you've come across. If you haven't come across one, you'll respawn at the point where you entered the map.

So the best time for quitting the game is after reaching a fast travel station or entering a new map.

I just bought Borderlands in the Xbox sale, and it's stunning in 4k. It holds up really well although not as colourful as I remember.

It wouldn't make any sense at all to make it PC exclusive

First of all this is brilliant. Cant believe I've not played before. Now B3 is my most anticipated game.

I've downloaded the 4k patch for ps4 pro but it doesnt seem to be changing to 4k on the TV and staying at 1080. Does anyone know a fix?

Check options for a 4K setting? Not sure though.

    Which character are you playing?

Zero is it? The ninja type one. Their doesnt seem to be 4k settings within the game and the TV ones are turned on. When you load the game it still switches to 1080

On Xbox the 4K enhancement isn't a patch per se, it's a fully separate download from the Xbox store. The patch is just the framework for what amounts to the 4K DLC. Maybe same on PSN?

I'm playing borderlands, the first one, and I'm finding it a bit sparse. A lot of walking between each fight, does it get better or has my patience just diminished in the last 10 years?

Okay thanks. I'm still enjoying the shooty bits, just the game world feels a bit emptier than I remember.

It really doesnt feel like a 10 year old game

The quest structure feels a bit antiquated (let me just turn in missions when I've completed them FFS) but yeah, I've been hugely impressed by how well it's held up. Downloaded the Handsome Collection last night too, should keep me ticking over until 3.

Not available for 360 by the looks of it. I'll have to install BL2 on the One (hopefully for free using the original disk) and then transfer all my saves to the cloud from the 360 heh.

If anybody is interested in the new DLC, it's only free until July 8th apparently.

@Mayhem64 Why are you playing it on 360 when you have an Xbone?

Just finished the new DLC (not the raid boss though) and yeah it's really a great gift. It's smaller than the other big DLC campaigns and not quite as fun in terms of gameplay, but still it's entertaining new content with new items, it does a lot in terms of lore and of course it's free, so many thanks.

However I'm a little confused about the pricing after the 1-month free period. They say it's going to be $15 after that, and sorry that's too much. The other DLC campaigns like Dragon Keep cost $10 and they're much bigger and better. This should be a $5-8 DLC, $15 is just too much.

Anyway, the biggest change is that level cap has been raised from 72 to 80. Ideal lvl72 builds have been more or less set in stone for 5-6 years, this really opens up the end game and encourages experimenting with new, never before possible builds. Loving it.

That's disappointing. Was tempted to bring the 360 out of the cupboard to give it a go, but don't think I can be arsed going through the whole game again on the PS4 to get to a level high enough to play this new one.

I started the DLC last night- it doesn't seem to do anything amazing or new, but it's more Borderlands, so it's fine by me. Got a new pearlescent rarity drop within the first 10 minutes but it was just a vehicle skin, and probably a scripted drop. I used to quite enjoy boss-farming, so I'm sure a better one will come along.

I love about this game that I'm still discovering weapon synergies all these years later. I was halfway through a Claptrap quest in Bunkers and Badasses that gives you a unique pistol at the top of your inventory, and I was trying to complete the quest before starting the new DLC because it always annoys me having that one useless gun you can't drop- but after some light wiki-ing I realised it's massively powerful when paired with single shot explosives like the Hive or Flakker.

There seems to be a ton of fast travel locations open from the start, Are these DLC areas? I warped to a couple and got like an intro for a quest with each one. I take it the standard game areas just unlock as you are going through it?

@wuntyphyve Yes the fast travel areas for the main story open up gradually, so the ones available from the start will be the DLC. The map and quest UI aren't that intuitive, I usually sort the quests by expansion so if I get sidetracked I can easily highlight which map location gets me back on the main questline

Playing the new DLC, it's got some nice fan service for Scooter fans. Got my first rainbow coloured weapon. Also found an orange legendary gunzerker class mod so may have to try a Salvador out next (currently lvl 51 Axton).
