Watched that too. I had seen it before, but remembered it was good.

It was even better on second viewing i think. Quite emotional watching tbh. The joy of the locals at a brief respite from the horror of the time and tears from all at what else had happened during the war was definitely a very natural watch without trying to tug at the heart strings too much. -

Registered 9 years agoTemple of Doom now on Channel 4.
I never noticed how little sense the start makes before. Indie & co escape on a charter plane owned by the baddy and flown by his goons, who fly them to the a mountain range, purge the tanks, and use the only two parachutes to escape leaving Indie, Willie and Short Round to crash. But they escape in an inflatable dinghy.
Ignoring the dinghy madness for a sec, why did the goons fly 4000km to India to crash the plane? They could have done it much closer to home and got back in time for tea.
But other than that the film is 100% realistic. -

Registered 19 years agoIt was the cut version, so we see the priest go to gently squeeze the sacrifice's nipple, and the get Indy exclaiming "he's still alive!" -

Registered 16 years agoOn Raiders last weekend they cut loads including the face melting scene. Pretty sure the Beeb didn't do that. -

Registered 9 years agoFunnily enough I’ve heard this is well regarded (the lighthouse, Batman and goblin version)
Watched the trailer on prime the other day, and was like wtf.
I didn’t click add to list.....should I?
Sell it too me as the creators are apparently unable to. Which is a big red flag if I’m honest. -

If that doesn’t sell it, it’s probably not for you. -
It's great psychological, almost Lovecraftian horror about two men losing their minds. It's also really funny, particularly some of Willem Dafoe's curse-filled rants. R-pats is great too, even though he gets fewer of the fun lines (he does get to murder the everliving fuck out of a gull though)
There's a few weird dream sequences and a lot of references to mythology/folklore, but you don't need to understand any of that to enjoy it. The story is pretty straightforward.
And it looks great and sounds great too. I genuinely can't fault any part of it, it's brilliant.
