A bit of victim blaming going on here chaps, one hundred percent Oconís fault.

Good to see BBC have done a deal to stream Formula E. The programmes last year were decent, but channel 5 buried it on wierd channels. A BBC means much more mainstream coverage (Website, Radio etc). Great news for the series.

In less great news, Round 1 is in Saudi Arabia. 🤦‍♂️

Horror crash, hope all involved survive and are ok.
There's a video somewhere of the start of it. Someone said brake failure.

Not a fan of the guy's reporting normally but Andrew Benson has written a fantastic 5-part article on Alonso that includes some previously unknown, juicy bits on his 2007 season at McLaren. Well worth a read.

Can't link now, but there was a fantastic article on the beeb yesterday about Billy Monger, the kid who lost his legs.

Really heartwarming stuff, especially about how he has got back into racing again and the aid from the teams.

I think there's just one line in there that's new information, but it's a biggie!

Absolutely mad they allowed him to continue after that. Even madder that he actually re-signed for them later on.

And he claimed he had no knowledge of crashgate? Hmmm

I just realised who should be angriest at the whole crashgate thing - Felipe Massa. He was leading the race at the time, finished 13th after the safety car messed up his race and then lost the world championship by 1 point.

Loved that detail, had never heard that.

The McLaren sections of that article were great, I got a bit bogged down/lost in the Ferrari years!

The Billy Monger doc was also really great. Interesting and moving.

Great few days on content from the BBC.

I'm worried it might turn out like Michael Schumacher's second career - he could be a long way off his best with time away from the sport and of course the injury he's carrying. I read some analysis a while back about how enthusiastic Renault were when he came back to test with them, as he had a great working relationship with the team and was giving great feedback, but when it came down to it and they analysed the laptimes he was doing, they just couldn't justify giving him a seat which is how he ended up at Williams.

I'll be delighted if he proves me wrong though.

He deserves a year in a seat I think. If he's not good enough anymore it will become quite clear but the only real way of knowing what he's capable of is giving him a season. Will give Williams a bit of good PR and if they do any better than rock-bottom then it's an improvement on how terrible they have been this season.

I hope Kubica does well, it'll be really sad if he gets 1 season after so long and then fades away with a flat result. I think Williams really need to punish themselves next year and force some good results.

Me too. Pleased to see him back. Is it wrong that I'd love to see him wipe the floor with George Russell?

It is fantastic that he's back but I highly doubt he's going to pull up any trees, especially at Williams.

Been some pretty impressive stories about his sim work but it's hard to say how that's going to translate to the track. Seems to be a belief based on his FP and sim runs that he'd be up to a second or more quicker than the current pair at Williams.

I'm also not a fan of Benson's usual drivel but this is genuinely a really good piece.
