I tried all sorts to be honest, all of them had a problem at one point or another.

...and yes, Kodi is fucking garbage. I really don't get why so many people rave about it.

I think everyone has heard kodi is great. Everyone is too scared to say they couldn't get it to work properly because all the other owners pretending it works will laugh at them and say how great their kodi is.

Unfortunately it doesn't allow catch up which I really want from them. NowTV has started allowing downloads of TV and movie to watch on the go so maybe they'll get round to it, probably in a few years knowing them. Lots of replays on Sky F1 so it's quite easy to catch a complete replay.

Also, couldn't find anywhere to sign up for the offer, spoke to cs and they said keep an eye on the site, it'll be coming soon.

Looks like they are going to be giving out a bonus point for the fastest lap in a race starting from Melbourne, provided said lap comes from a driver within the top 10.

So basically, whichever Red Bull is in 6th place with 5 laps to go can look forward to 9 points instead of 8.

Bit gimmicky but I guess it could add some interest at the end of otherwise processional races.

I don't like change, but I think they used to have that in the early years of the championship. Could result in some interesting last few laps, I suppose.

It would have been half decent in the era of low deg tyres and a more bunched up grid.

But the gap is so gigantic between Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari and the other 7 teams that whichever car happens to be last out of those 6 will be able to freely change tyres with a few laps to go, pit out still miles ahead of whoever is in 7th with clean air ahead of them and pump in a qualifying lap the other teams couldn't even dream of matching anyway for a free point.

Gasly will probably end up with about 15 extra points by the end of the season.

I'm happy for them to give it a go, it does give everyone in the top 10 something to fight for in the last 10 or so laps and it does mean that the race leader may well push harder to get a 25 second cushion so they can pit and have a go at the fastest lap.

I really don't see a downside to at least trying it and see what it does.

    Elimination qualifying.

Extra points are always bullshit, particularly if it ends up deciding a title.

I'm all for 1 point for fastest lap. It will make for a few good sub plots in various races I'm sure.

    +1 point for fastest lap
    +1 point for most overtakes
    +1 point for highest speed
+1 point for least radio communication
+1 point for fastest pit stop
-1 point for each tyre change
-1 point for each time you're lapped

Anyone been watching that F1 doc on Netflix? Gives a bit more humanity to quite a sterile sport, from what we see at least.

Planning on binging on it during the week. Shame the two best teams didn't get involved in it.

Only seen the first episode but it's good to see a bit more of the people behind the scenes and the drivers outside the media trained interviews

I'll continue with my habits of reading the race results, if I remember it's even on.

@SnackPlissken If it's like last year it lets you watch all Sky Sports channels for the 9 months the season lasts. So it could be a deal if you watch other sports a lot too.

No one has mentioned Paddy Lowe leaving Williams before the season even starts? Williams could really be in for a terrible season indeed.

Yeah, I'm struggling to bring myself to pay for it, especially given how much better value F1TV is.

@up_the_ante tbh F1 is the only sport I watch live. If they just gave you F1 tv for 5.99 a month I’d be more than happy.
They want to squeeze out as much money as possible. It’s like back when tv passes weren’t a thing, and you’d need the entertainment package to get sky sports....

I can get it for about £10 a month over here, but the fact that most of the races are on in the middle of the night and that F1 has been boring-as-fuck shite for ages now means I'm sacking it off. I might watch highlights if a race sounds interesting, but meh.

It's nice to hear the stuff that doesn't get aired.
Alonso looking up at the mic asking if it's needed for such a crucial conversation. And then looking back at the camera.

I think it's a good series. Enjoyable. Enjoyed the Renault / Horner stand off.

That Haas/Renault rivalry was great too. I want to see more Magnussen vs Hulkenberg.

    Highlight for me was:

"You need a driver and an engine"
"Have you got any money to spend on your engine now you’ve spent it all on your driver?”

Only watched the first 2 so far. Really enjoying it other than the cringe-worthy overdubbed commentary they've put over some of the on-track-clips. That needs to go before the next series.

Having watched a couple more, there are some pretty clear cases of commentary being moved around to fit whatever narrative they are running with and their editing creating an inaccurate picture of what actually happened at the time.

It's still a good watch for the behind-the-scenes stuff and soundbites, but their presentation of the races is really poor. Having watched these races live at the time, there's far too many "that didn't happen like that" moments for it really to be considered a true documentary.

I see Channel 4 have been shafted with their coverage.
No grid walks, no interviews in the press pit, highlights no less than 3 hours after the race.

I'm going to Silverstone again this year, went in 2017.
Anyone ever paid for the inner circuit pass?

I'm thinking I'll do it on practice day as should be more chance of the drivers being around. Race day would be kind of pointless.

If I see Ted I'll tell him he's pish and EG hate Sky

I loved Gunther Steiner, especially when he took the piss out of Grosjean at the Haas team dinner.
