So Channel 4 are only showing one live race this year - Silverstone. Also no more Susie Wolf or Karun Chandhok. No great loss IMO. What is odd is that they've now got Billy Monger as a pundit. I'm not sure how much a 19 year old that has never raced in F1 can tell us. Unfortunately Steve "look at me" Jones is still there.

Anyway, I'm not sure how often I will even see C4 coverage now it's not even live. It's very hard to avoid seeing or hearing the race results in that 3 hour gap between the race finishing and when C4 can air it.

Also, C4 can only use 50% of their airtime to show highlights. What a bizarre restriction, set by Sky, apparently.

Stuff watching it this year, full stop. I've recently got into X- Trials and will be catching up with the Formula E instead. Plenty enough to keep me busy.

Whoa. Charlie Whiting has just passed away. Not sure he'll be anywhere near as fondly remembered as Sid Watkins, but none the less a staple name in F1 for years and years.

I stumped up £195 for the F1 season on NowTv. Kind of feel dirty now 😂 It's either that or no F1 races and a year of the annoying Steve Jones and highlights. Oh well, working overtime monday to pay for it.

Yeah, I think I might have to as well, even though it's a shit deal compared to F1TV.

Terrible shock to wake up to. RIP Charlie

It's quite telling that his job could well be split up and given to a few people such was the amount of work he did.

you'll never effect change if you cave in to the man. You'll be paying £250 next year.

Not a fucking chance I'll pay approaching £200 for something that has been free-to-air for as long as I've been alive. It's the odd stream on a day I can actually be arsed this season.

F1TV would interest me with all their other content included, but we won't have that option until at least 2025. The whole situation stinks.

I bet there's some legend out there that uploads the full race onto dailymotion or something. Streams can be hit or miss.

My main concerns right now are:

1: Can you use it over VPN (I literally have no idea).
2: Can you share accounts (you can with NowTV).

Bah even NowTv have put their prices up. £9 for 24 hrs. I think it was £7 last year? First practice session starts in just over an hour!

Yeah, they can stop sand bagging now! :D
2 seconds off the pace of the nearest team. Almost 4 seconds off the ultimate pace

The whole Paddy Lowe thing is bizarre isn't it? You have to wonder if Mercedes were happy to let him go at the time.

The sad thing is, Williams got some decent drivers in comparison to last season but theyíre gonna go to waste. It must feel shit to get a seat, and get the slowest car by a mile... just fighting your team mate and watching out for blue flags ..

I just saw George Russell saying F1 is the 20 best drivers in the world. Why do people keep saying this?! He's saying the worst driver on the grid, that pays to drive, is better than any of the other tens of thousands of other professional drivers in the world? 90% of the drivers are there because their parents are rich. Yet by some amazing coincidence they are also the 20 best drivers in the world

I've won as many F1 championships as most of the current drivers. All put together.

Glad I don't pay for F1 if qualifying is anything to go by. I'll catch the results later.

Glad I didnít get up for this. A few years ago it would be unthinkable for me to ever miss a session but F1ís is such a shadow of what it used to be.

    Formula 1 Template

    -Winter Testing-
Mercedes: Oh, we're in loads of trouble! Ferrari and Red Bull are at least half a second up on us!

    -Australia-
*Hamilton gets pole by 5-6-7 tenths

Nice to see a McLaren in the top 10 not being driven by Alonso. Shows there has been some improvement. Only 1.9 seconds shy of the front of the grid, though.

Only in so far as we didn't know where the teams stood. Now we have a good idea it seems less entertaining as it looks like things remain the same as ever.

I was disappointed to see things haven't changed this year. I'd like a change. But live in hope that Australia isn't indicative of the season ahead. It can sometimes be a bit of a red herring.

...but I doubt it will be this year. And if that's the case I hope we all forget the lead cars and the mid pack, 6th and beyond is more entertaining.
