Good on them. The other teams should really follow suit but we all know Ferrari would be more than happy to lap around on their own and take the 1-2.
  • Deleted user 12 March 2020 11:53:15
Ferrari's plan all along was to infect others with the virus and win the championship
  • Deleted user 12 March 2020 11:53:44
I can't see any way the other teams won't cancel too.

I know it's different, but Indy 2005 reminds me of what cunts Formula 1 teams can really be when it can benefit them.
  • Deleted user 12 March 2020 12:01:58
So a McLaren team member has tested positive

    What an absolute clusterfuck.

I'm sure the drivers will be cushty, but those hundreds of poor fuckers who do the leg work for each of the teams on a basic wage are now potentially stranded halfway around the world and could spend fuck knows how long away from the families and the safety of their own homes. All because the FIA couldn't use any common sense.

As much as I was looking forward to it it's the right thing to do. Genuinely surprised that they flew everyone out there, but y'know. Money.
  • Deleted user 12 March 2020 16:15:08
I reckon we are going to see something like an 8 or 10 race season with no crowds.

It all seems like a game of chicken, FIA/liberty media and race holders both trying to avoid the costs of no race happening, in the end the teams said fuck this at last minute when the obvious happens and I'm guessing an argument is to come over who pays the bills.

No doubt this year will be interesting in a diffrent wayy but hopefully doesnt make any teams bankrupt.

It'll be an insurance thing. If they cry off themselves, it'll be out of their own pocket but if they sit and let the shit hit the fan naturally they will probably be covered.

How far are we away from fp1 now and still no official cancellation. F1 never fails to grasp an opportunity to make itself look like a complete, shambling mess.

Apparently it's a complete shambles at the track. They're saying the race will go ahead but without McLaren. Rumours that Vettel and Kimi have already flown home. Only F1 and the FIA can make such a hash of it.

Yeah they really didn't learn anything from Indianapolis 2005. Showing once again that they don't give a hoot about the paying fans.

Why let everyone show up and then "delay" opening the gates?

I'm sure thousands of organisations could make such a hash of it

This is definitely peak F1. Shambles.

Apparently the teams were tied 5-5 for it to go ahead or not.

Hopefully they've got a seething Paul Stoddart on hand to rant during the 10 car GP.

Excellent, it only took putting every member of staff of every team, all the officials and stewards and anyone else associated with setting up and hosting the GP for no fucking reason at risk.

    What a total mess.

For once I do have a *bit* of sympathy for F1/FIA. They’ve been strung along by the Oz government who’ve insisted the race should happen. Loads of public money goes into it. This is what happens when the same organisiation is both health regulator and event promoter.
