Registered 18 years agoI'm still baffled as to why they don't have to put the ball in straight in a scrum. -

Registered 11 years agoThe first Wales try is one of the most stupid referee mistakes I've seen. The ref mic audio is pretty damning. "Go and have a word with your team", so England get the wingers in, then he puts time back on and let's Wales play. The video and audio tell the whole story and you'd imagine World Rugby will have a word.
The 'knock-on' I can live with assuming Guscott is right and they've applied the laws correctly. I will say that it was never interpreted that way when I was playing, you had to have control so you couldn't just fumble it and then pretend you had always intended a grubber kick (I tried that many times without success). But that was almost 20 years ago now.

Registered 18 years agoWales have had two 'jammy' victories so far in this competition, and I fear if we hang on to win this, it won't have been because of superior play. -

Registered 11 years agoIt just feels like everyone's going through the motions a bit this year. I'm pleased they are trying but it completely lacks the usual intensity and passion without the fans. i.e. the bit that makes the 6N the 6N.
The lack of atmosphere is similar to those home nation, pre-world cup warmup matches that we have every four years. There's the same sense that it doesn't hugely matter and the proper Tests are yet to come.
Especially now that France vs Scotland is postponed, whoever wins it'll be a bit hollow. Same as last year, unfortunately.

Registered 11 years agoWell done Wales, ruthlessly took their chances. But some of them shouldn't have been chances, ref had a bad game (not biased, just that his mistakes didn't even out).
Ref aside, England made so so many mistakes again and wouldn't have won anyway. Still don't look fit or sharp, which is entirely understandable for the Saracen's players. Not too concerned unless it persists post-Covid.

Wales are the jammiest cunts they’ve had gifts from the referee in every game this tournament.
Terrible red card against Ireland
Scotland card fiasco.
And a French bloody ref who doesn’t understand the laws of knock on or offside and touch judges who call for a TMO when 5m away. -

Registered 18 years agoYeah, when it was tied at 24 I expected them to put the foot on the gas, not concede 3 pens in 4 minutes and throw it away. -

There wasn't any real complaints here about that card. If anything, it started a discussion on when PO'M will be more of a liability than a strength.

He's been that way for a few years no? Master of being a shitbag but he hasn't adapted since refs cracked down on head contact.

Registered 18 years agoAs frustrated as I am about the first 2 tries, ultimately England weren't good enough. Too ill-disciplined and made so many basic errors, it meant we couldn't build anything at all. Well done Wales. -

Having the same thought. Wales have put in one good performance and have won a Triple Crown more or less by accident. Fair play to them, but oh how I wish Scotland could have that kind of good fortune once in a while. Or once ever!

I haven't watched their other games (bar the last 15 of the Scotland game), but England didn't really deserve to win this one. Mind you, not sure anyone did really.

It's really strange. There are some good players in that squad and a few great ones. They should be battling France for the clear leader of Europe. That they are playing so not-exactly-badly-but-not-exactly-well kinda hints that they are trying new things to develop in a non-WC year.

But I'm fucked if I can see what it is.
The other thing is that the squad is unhappy for whatever reason and is under-performing. -
