Yes. And? I don't understand how you can get so worked up about a game that

    a) you have zero personal stake in

    b) is coming to a system you don't even own

but please do carry on ranting!

I would like to have played dead space on the wii. Not really bothered by another on rails wii shooter I must say.

    IGN Hands-On

As expected naysayers make up shit to get ticked off about without actually knowing anything about the game.

Sounds excellent; more games like this I can get behind.

I can't wait for this game. I liked Dead Space and I also like on-rails games, so this is quite suprisingly beneficial for me =)
The first Dead Space was incredibly linear anyway so being on-rails doesn't change an awful deal imo, and just like with a Horror move, it's perfectly possible to create a creepy, tension filled and scary atmosphere with an on-rails game. And the whole Wiimote application in regards to dismembering things will be fun as heck, as will the co-op.
The only thing that's really bugging me at the moment is the fact I don't want it to be too easy, the first Dead Space was far too easy on any difficulty, barring it's hardest imho, hopefully this will have a harder difficulty setting too.
Needless to say I can't wait for this =)

If you actually bothered to read the hands-on it's not like Operation Wolf, there's free look moments and the story unfolds in a normal way -- it's not like an arcade lightgun game at all.

And since I'm not working on the game or in any way dependent upon it's success I don't really care if people like it or not; it would be nice not to have threads about the game filled with ill-informed bullshit posts however.

And as suspected, it's 100% on rails. The original game was admittedly linear, but I hoped this sort of thing would die with Operation Wolf.
Isn't it little bit like saying that you hoped 2d platforming would have died with Super Mario Bros? I think there's always room for simplistic games, where you don't have to push 5 triggers simultaneously while jumping backwards to be able to kill something. Sometimes that kind of games are most relaxing.

Looks rather good for a light gun game. Some branching paths and some freelook moments to spice things up.

Looks more like a light gun game than a survival horror to me.

Was it done by the same person who did The Conduit's cover?

Now I've actually played Dead Space, I can see me loving this. An on-rails shooter with Dead Space dismemberment should be good fun :)

The graphics are alright too. Not Dead Space good obviously, but they certainly look like the same Necromorphs I know and fear. Plus the gun reticle seems to show most of the weapons mirror the originals. I'm looking forawrd to this a bit. Not enough to pre-order unless someone knows of anywhere doing tacky bonus stuff I know and love.

I have just completed Dead Space (this week to be precise) and I loved it, probably my favourite game on the PS3 so far (even more then Bioshock), because of this i am really looking forward ot this, no problems with the game mechanics as I wouldn't want to play "Dead Space" on the Wii, a cheap port would be dreadful, but a prequel with a whole different gameplay, including co-op sounds great.

There's a preview on videogamer.com who seem to have mostly good things to say about it. It's definitely made me consider it a bit more..

I didn't bother reading all the silly debates on earlier pages, but anyway, I've played some Dead Space on Xbox and enjoyed it...I found the use of noises really effective, you never quite knew if something was really about to break out of a vent to attack. I am looking forward to seeing how a Wii version comes off.

So... it appears to be out this Friday according to Game, yet apart from the advert splashed over EG, there appears to be nothing else.

Can't find any reviews anywhere... anyone know if this means it's going to be dire, or if EA simply aren't advertising it?
