Registered 14 years agoCyk: The tight one's in B&W of Julliette are very effective, like them a lot. Maybe the one where you got her moshing (10?) would work better in black and white.
(I have to admit to a bias here, I can't be doing with colour photo's of low light situations, I much prefer a B&W in those situations. But as I said, personal bias!
Otto: Better than what I had to work with. Unfortunately for a few of my shots I had the flash turned on ( >) so the camera decided my settings were all wrong. They are just so overexposed it's unbelievable! Arse!
I think I may have to get a neutral and a polarising filter next! -
Excellent pics cyk!
My best friend at work was at that gig, just emailed the link to her, I'm sure she'll love them. -

Cold in there was it? She's in danger of being done for some serious midget-gem smuggling there...!

Very nice shots cyk, my favourite is the one with her arm straight up in the air. I like the fingure gesture she does! -

I'll take another look at that oneI didn't want to have all black n white shots so I left some alone. I do love BW tho.

Hehe. It was boiling so I can only guess that she stood outside for a while to create the effect.

TaIt is tricky. I was using 1/45 and f/3.5 for them at ISO800. If you're on a 20D it would be easier as you could use IS1600 and a higher shutter speed.

Anyway... I've but an entry in my blog on how I did the pictures. As for why? I just felt like doing them that way at the time...I particularly like the orange flower one...
Speaking of Macro lenses I was in Manchester this lunch time and had a look in Jessops (yeah, yeah, I wanted a polarising filter, they're the only place in Manchester that has any kind of selection of filters) and they had this lense 2nd hand for £180. Great thought I, I'll just check the brand new price on the web... You can only pick it up for about £190 brand new!!! Bloody arses!!! -

That's good that, though if this were Practical Photographer they'd say something about the whispy bits of cloud in the background... But since it isn't, we wont!!!
So whereabouts is Spinnaker Tower? -

It was supposed to be the millenium project for Portsmouth but it's running a bit late

Some guy wrote an app for flickr that allows you to input a tag and then it blends all the photos with that tag into one.

Here are a few I took in Quebec City last week - God that's a picturesque town, quite unexpected. The photos aren't really anything special (I like the 'park benches' one though) but it's such a pretty place I felt the need to share.
You might know the answer to this - which Canadian city is it that had the infamous "Lego" skyscrapers in it?

Registered 15 years agoNice shots otto. I like the chateau and the down town Torronto shots. Vali's shots are really atmospheric. The mist on the tower and the harbour is cool. Yesterday was the first day of spring. Lots of daffodils out -

Really like those two, very good composition, very atmospheric (IMHO of course!)

That was taken in Port Sunglight on Sunday using an Infrared filter. I have a few more that I need to upload. I really can't wait until all the trees have leaves again, its going to be great. -

I don't know either, I remember being shown photos of them when I was a kid so they must be pretty old - but can't find any reference to 'em anywhere.

Cool thanksI'm entering it into the BBC North West Tonight Photo competition, so I hope they think that too
I was close to the dafs using my 50mm lens at f/1.8 to create a great depth of field, the blurry background. There was a nice small field of dafs which really helped. Not much to it really, just depth of field
