I posted it cause people were talking about Bill Burr in this thread, sorry if you weren't able to see him actually stand up.
Ah, in that case a quote would have probably cleared things up. The way you posted a video followed by a colon-D made it look like you thought it was actually funny youself, while all I saw until I turned it off (which wasn't very long to be fair) was someone being a dick. But hey ho.

Said that all needs to be said. Clip was just tiresome.

Didn't know Bill Burr before actually. Listening to that clip I thought it was made by some frustrated 16-years-old trying to start a Youtube career, making feeble rants about the SJW conspiracy, trying to be somehow funny, but like most other YT amateurs being way too untalented to have any hopes. Then I found out he's 48 years old and people pay to see him on stage. What?

edit: apparently the New York Times called him one of the funniest in years. /sigh

His stand up is pretty funny to be fair.

Oh man, that's disappointing about Louis. I hope it's all been blown out of proportion. It definitely puts some of his bits in a new light.

I did look up some stand up stuff and didn't find it funny or intelligent or anything. Better than that podcast for sure, but of course that's not saying anything. Jeremy Clarkson is comedy genius in comparison.

BTW you don't need an SJW tag on something to see that it's the same old tired feminism bashing. You only need to listen to it for a minute or two.

Give him credit, he has managed to judge Bill Burr's whole career after half an hour of looking up YouTube clips.

I judged that one clip, which was pretty fucking dreadful. Zero laughs, which is the biggest problem. Not outraged or anything, just bored and bewildered that stuff like that can get a following.

Maybe the rest of his stuff is golden, but that clip hasn't exactly made me want to listen to more.

Bill Burr is a legend. He throws out long podcasts every week so yeah he's prolific and you're going to get a lot of duff with the gold.

Got a good insight into him listening when he was interviewed on 'The comedians comedian podcast'

    http://www.comedianscomedian.com/176-bill-burr/

I was desperate for some good comedy for a while with mainstream Macintyre stuff not doing it for me and Alan Partridge only making random appearances. I lost myself in Stewart Lee stuff for a long while as it was a comic angle I hadn't seen before. But that got a bit same same after a while.

Then found Louis C K and found him enormously entertaining ( not enough to 'get involved' with his alleged lock-room-wanking scene ;) ) a couple of years back. Possibly cos i'm in the same age group as him - who knows?

Bill Burr is a similar vibe for me - yeah he's aggressive and abrasive and takes a bit of getting into perhaps.

Jim Jefferies was the same - I bounced straight off him and thought him , i dunno - 'crude/basic' ? but then that gun control piece came out and his skit about 2 18 yr old girls in montreal is some filthy proper story telling that really made me laugh.

Although Jefferies and Bill Burr both have items in their standup where some precious flowers may rage 'Sexist!' or 'anti-femininst' I often find , Burr particularly, has some valid points of view told amongst the humour. The old adage - it's funny cos it's true applies.

    E.g

    and

I suppose I can see the joke he's trying to make but it does kind of miss the point of what the responsibilities of the First Lady have become so just looks like 'hey women, shut up' if you do know that there is a role to be fulfilled.

I just get the feeling that that whole bunch of guys from Louis CK through Bill Burr to Jim Jefferies and out to Joe Rogan that I don't trust them not to be two sentences away from saying 'its political correctness gone mad'. I think if they did the same material but were British doing it to a British audience they wouldn't have the same fans here that they do now.

as a disclaimer at the end after being all shut up lady for the whole routine. It's the same lazy nonsense Mock the Week used to fart out to look edgy during the Frankie Boyle days.

I think I get that too but I can't find the funny part. Or do I not get it after all? I mean, admittedly I do have an inherited humour disorder

I'm not offended by what he says though, just don't find the limited stuff I've heard funny. At least being offended would be a reaction.

Given the gushing hard-ons folks have for Burr, it does feel like maybe I'm missing something. What's his best easily available routine? I'll be willing to try and listen.

He's "pretty funny". He's got a few sets on Spotify which are decent if you've got that.
