I'm with bob. Squirty lemon juice just tastes different and works for pancakes.

That being said, missus is feeling better, so might be having some peanut butter and chocolate m&m pancakes. Put myself in a sugar coma for the night. Who needs a pancreas anyway?

Never got the appeal for pancakes just seems like fried mush to me. How the Americans eat these for breakfast is beyond me.
With bacon and a a bit of maple syrup it’s not bad now and again, that salty/sweet combo….

Never tried a nice crepe, Bob?

Someone at work said this to me. I work in Yorkshire to be fair so it didn't really surprise me.

Their logic was it's basically the same ingredients as a Yorkshire Pudding. They're not really going to sell me with that. They'd just put gravy on anything the dirty fuckers.

It is the same mix as Yorkshire Puddings :)

    May even make a stew...

I'll probably buy a few breadcakes to dab up the leftover gravy too.

Bob, what you like to eat?

What’s indulgent about flour, eggs and milk with a bit of jam or lemon and sugar on top?

I was meaning to ask why you haven't invited me round for some gruel.

Sugar and lemon, chocolate buttons (and then rolled) or maple syrup. Intrigued by the M&M suggestion too.

Is gravy just a Yorkshire thing then?

Golden syrup is the backup option if that's more 'normal' to you guys :)

Is something like an omelette OK or should eggs be eaten raw including the shell? I'm trying to get a sense of an acceptable level of indulgence.

I remember a restaurant chain called The Pancake Place. They did all sorts of savoury and sweet toppings. I think I prefer waffles tbh.
