| Right, this is getting too exciting. Do I need to buy a tablet for these do you reckon, or a standard smart phone do it? |

Oh, and I can re-confirm to warlock that 'doofus' mode allows you to hit 'back' at any time...

Registered 11 years agoOk, had a proper go on the train in this morning. Great stuff, works really well, even on a fairly small screen. Love the fighting mechanic and the auto selection of item usage - nice stuff. Ambient music is nice too.
Impressed! Want more! -

Registered 15 years agoI hope you're all throwing your cash at Turn to 400, the Fighting Fantasy documentary film?
It's a Kickstarter project
Mods, maybe a small feature can be run on the main site? It'd be a shame if this project couldn't go ahead, the interviews with some major games industry figures could be very interesting.
Also, my blog I mentioned a while back is still running and I'm actually quite enjoying it! It's here! -

Registered 9 years agoAnyone seen The Renegade Wizard? Its quite like The Warlock of Firetop Mountain but is a bit more interesting in that you get to play as a wizard, warrior or ranger. -

Registered 9 years ago@quadfather Not too sure. But a movie is in the works.
Ed: Maybe not, just seen the 2010 copyright at the bottom.

Registered 10 years agoThe Sorcery books were 4 linked FF books by Steve Jackson. Might mean them. -
Sorcery is only on iPhone at the moment iirc.
Hope they get around to Space Assassin and Robot Commando. -

Awesome! Bought.
Also noticed Forest Of Doom is now out to which is great as I loved that book as a kid!
So that leaves one more to come from Timman (for now at least, hope they do more), the later Steve Jackson one "that very much broke free of the traditional fantasy genre at the time". I still reckon it's Apointment With F.E.A.R.
Always liked Forest of Doom - re-bought it a few years ago - it's actually quite hard and there is only ONE ROUTE through that actually works.
I really hope that the Sorcery series makes it to Android...
"Tin Man Games have signed a licensing deal to release the Fighting Fantasy series on Android, so expect to see more of your favourite adventure gamebooks appearing soon!
Coming Soon... The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, Deathtrap Dungeon, City of Thieves, Citadel of Chaos, Appointment with F.E.A.R. and more!"

Registered 11 years agoI'll be getting forest of doom too. I'd really like deathtrap dungeon and trial of champions too
Time to check the android shop I think
And, bonus, I was looking through my books the other day and I've not only still got most of the decent FF ones, but also found the Crown of Kings, signed by Jackson himself! -

I think my copy was signed by Ian Livingstone, but it's long gone.

Registered 11 years agoCity of thieves! Ah man, there's just loads of them isn't there. I have to admit that I took the ones that I didn't class as my 'favourites' to a car boot near where I live. I don't think they've actually sold though, so I might just go and get them back, warts an all!
I don't actually remember getting crown of kings signed - it was so long ago -

Registered 20 years agoI drifted away from the series after Scorpion Swamp. Got into Sorcery, and then my bro got the D&D basic set (Mentzer red box) for Christmas and we never looked back.
Last ones I remember were Freeway Fighter (loved it) and Caverns of the Snow Witch (never read it!!) -

Registered 18 years agoWow that takes me back, just googling those covers. Sorcery was brill.
Finished a text adventure last week on my windows phone, was a fun read and fairly addictive. So hopeful these make it over at some point, would be perfect for the tube and train. -

I used to love these books (and the other similar ones), I remember finding a 'bug' in one that would put you on a loop but I don't think it was a Jackson/Livingstone one. -

I also played through the Lone Wolf books (certainly the first two) by Joe Dever and Gary Chalk.
And a comedy series featuring a talking 'Excalibur Junior' and Merlin...
