NOD 32. A ZX81 could run it with memory to spare.

Avast is shit, fuck you Carlo.

F-Secure was sufficient for me but I've lost the installation file.

    Is Avira REALLY any good?

NOD32 is excellent in my experience. Just gets on with it without getting in the way.

I've had NOD32 for a couple of weeks and my computer hasn't exploded so I guess it's ok.
  • Deleted user 4 March 2009 00:44:12

Yeah, you know so much about AV, you post on a games forum asking for advice.

    O_o

The best is to not have any and not open zip files from Nigerians or download porn phone diallers.

I can't think of many better places than to post about it on a forum I'm already registered on, to a bunch of computer enthusiasts.

All I know is that Avast is shit. You're not really a cunt, though. I was only messing about.

Cheers to everyone for the tips, I'm no clearer on what to get though Nod32 sounds good I'll probably go for Avira as it's a freebie.

I typed in 'anti virus best' into the search bar and found nothing, sorry for wasting your time though, you're obviously a busy man 'HoriZon'.

I've located my 3 year old F-Secure install file, so really I've just been a cunt. AVG is also on the CD.

Avira easily. It's free, light, and good enough to compete with commercial apps.

Seems like there is a new Anti-virus thread every week...

I also use Kaspersky and from what I've seen and experienced, it and Nod32 indeed seem to be the best. They're both paid for as has been said, but worth it imo.

Still between NOD32 and Kaspersky? My NOD has run out but just checking it's still the one to go for. Low use of resources are key for me....
