It was a core module that I was accused to not attending. A module in semester B follows that core module directly after it. You can't do them both at the same time. So, there's no chance of me graduating this year.
How many weeks of the second module have you missed? This is a fuck up of such epic proportions that I'd say they would be pretty much obliged to provide you with catch up tuition.
The financial implications for you of having to do an extra year must be absolutely massive. Not only are you having to support yourself at university for an extra year (without one would assume an LEA contribution) but also another year away from gainful employment. That's got to be costing you thousands of pounds. -
Fuck, the bullshit-0-meter just exploded. -

But you were kicked out for attendance?

But you did attend. So what's the problem?
Yeah but I didn't hand my course work in at the end because I wasn't allowed to. So I got no grade for the module.
How..
What?
When I found out that I was withdrawn my main tutor told me not to attend any more lectures and not to hand in the end of year course work. -

When did all this happen? -
Ok, ok. quick sum up.
Found out that I was withdrawn due to my attendance and was told not to come back to lectures or hand in the end of year course work thingy.
Then came three or four weeks of complaining. Finally, on Friday, after about 3 or 4 hours of complaining I get to see the register and the help desk lady confirms that I have attended enough classes.
Now, I can do the module this semester but I can't do the one that comes after it at the same time, so that means no degree this year.
My next move will be talking to an advisor that I booked an appointment for and ask them who to talk to about compensation and other stuff.
Ah, fuck it, might just sue them... -

Registered 15 years agoP_I! The time for action is now! Fucking go apeshit at your tutors until they get you back on the course! Don't let them fob you off, don't use email. Track them down, wait for them outside their classes, visit them at home if you have to! This is your future! If you miss out on a year it'll have massive implications with costs, jobs, etc. You need to make it clear that if the uni puts you at any such disadvantage you'll kick up the biggest shitstorm they've ever seen.
Don't let them push you around, you're right, you have the proof. Finish them! -

Ha, kind of. Whenever I asked them to show me my attendance, they just told me numbers. And trust me, it took me fucking ages yesterday to see it. -

I really think if they're not prepared to bend the rules a bit and help you out of a situation that they after all created you should give it some serious thought. As I said in my last post, I can't see your LEA paying for an extra year, especially if the record shows that its because of poor attendance so you're going to be paying out some pretty serious money I'd imagine.
And find out who the fuck the dean of your course is and go direct to them. I guarantee if you give me the name of your university and the course name I can google it up 3 minutes. -

Because they wouldn't show me it. They kept on saying that "we don't have access to that information" or "on the computer it says you've not been attending, there's no point".
I spent most of the time with advisor's on what to do, help desks, booking appointments, talking to tutors, etc. -

I wanted to sort it out at the uni and not in court. But, if they don't refund me my tuition fees and loan and travel costs then I've got no choice. -

Registered 16 years agoThe point is that having a FREE solicitor on tap could probably have helped you out as to your rights to see such things as the attendance register and the legal position of kicking you out of the course for no apparent reason.
What were you studying, btw? -
