Registered 10 years agoNearly had to repeat my second year when I didn't turn up to one class for a full term (first thing Monday morning).
Luckily it was group work and a friend of mine allowed me to join his group. Was a little miffed when I worked twice as hard to make up for my shitty attitude and ended up getting a slightly higher mark than him. -

I'm trying to think how this could of happened. I always arrived 5/10 minutes before the start of each class and signed the register at the end of each class.
I've been arguing with my main tutor about this. It goes along the lines of this:
me: Em, so I've been withdrawn for bad attendance. The thing is, I went to every class.
him: No you didn't.
me: Yes I did.
him: No you didn't.
me: Is there anything I can do about it?
him: No.
me: Ok bye.
The uni has just rapped me for £5000. So mad.
Those thick types that wave their degree's certs about, find that no one wants to hire them anyhow, as the vast majority fail to grasp the basics of what real work is all about. -

Registered 7 years agoSurely everyone has their own personal story of university delinquency and their fight against the system, which is nearly always (and quite reasonably) stacked against them.
You learn as much fighting the university machine as in the real world school of hard knocks. Either do the work, or learn to dodge and weave and stagger like a pro. -

Registered 18 years agoI took a course called Antartic Studies the rumour was it was piss easy points.
Turns out it wasn't mucking about watching videos of penguins and polar bears but shit like environmental management, ozone depletion and ocean acidification.
But the nail in the coffin was the 8am lecture times. That didn't align with getting out of bed at midday. -

This is it! I can't remember if they posted what times the lectures / seminars werenon at. If they did I would have picked the easiest and latest starting units. My favourite unit ever?.....history of typography, 3pm to 4pm on a Wednesday, 1500 easy at the end. It stills brings a tear to my eye how cushy that was! -
