I'd rather not fund his retirement.

I know my girlfriend would love to go but they're pricey tickets :(

I was hoping to pick a couple up but, uhh, no chance.

how much are they...would pay a bit to see him actually
just for the pure 'saw him live before he died' even though it's bound to be a bit of a let down

    nevermind...saw the OP with details

quite reasonable i think for someone like MJ

I saw him on the Black & White tour many years ago and he fucking ROCKED. Did the whole 'make the crowd wait for at least an hour after supposed on-stage time, then pop out of the stage in a puff of smoke and stand stock still for a minute while the crowd went wild and then move his head 90 degrees and wait for the crowd to stop screaming again' thing. Awesome.

Funny how the papers were going MENTAL yesterday morning about how he was expected to announce a 30 day set of concerts at the O2. Only 10, huh?

Got an email saying I can apply for the presale from tomorrow morning. Quite fancy getting into the first gig - good chance it will be the last one too...

    Bastard! :/

That's what I'd want from this show, but let's face it, it ain't gonna happen. :(

He does look a right state, but I suppose his nose isnt hanging loose any more so that's got to be a plus?

Tbh, I don't think anyone is ever going to convince him that too much plastic surgery is a bad thing, and I'm not sure he gives a fuck what other people think anyway. In a funny way, he's the quintessential eccentric artist

I think he cares too much what people think. He's got serious insecurity issues.

I mean, who gets 50 nose jobs if you don't care what everybody else thinks?

Michael Jackson postpones the opening of his 'This Is It' London O2 arena residency by four days.

The tour will now begin on July 13 because the 'Thriller' star needs more time to rehearse, concert promoters AEG confirmed. Three further dates have been moved back to March 2010.

    Just pull out now ffs!

I'm sure he'll go through with it, but this clearly shows his commitment is is cursory at best.

It does, rather, doesn't it? What's the official line on how many gigs he's doing, and how often? Because it just feels like the guy's gonna lose several stone over the course of the month and be completely unfit for the majority of the latter gigs. He's no Iron Man contender.

Surely if anything it shows he's trying to get the best show together that he can, although personally I don't think he'll be able to stay the distance.

Or it shows he's badly out of practice / shape and hasn't been bothering with turning up for rehearsals.

Come on, the man's doing it because he has to. That doesn't bring out the best in anyone.

Fair points. Well I never. I'm admitting I might be wrong about something on the EG forum. Someone take a screengrab for posterity. :)

He's just been diagnosed with skin cancer, so I think he can be excused a small delay.

Meh, I reckon he'll last 3 gigs max, then the whole tour will be canned.
  • Deleted user 20 May 2009 23:12:49
Prince is better than Jackson, by a country mile. MJ gets other people to write his music. So if you listen to MJ then you're an arsehole ;D

Seriously though, its a bit pointless to compare them
