I might be the only one but I love the look of the new XJ. The previous design - while a classic - was 30 years old and a bit stuffy so they had to go somewhere new and bold.

I loved the old design, but I will concede that an update was probably needed. I would have preferred something retro-modern if that makes sense. This looks a bit bland and un-Jag.

I honestly don't mind the style of the XF its just not a Jag. If for instance Nissan produced a car that looked exaclty like that I would say it was a good looking car. For a Jag though it does not have enough character.

But but but but but - the old Jag's classic looks IMHO were coming from the 60s/70s roud upright headlights. It was a derivative of 20/30s era cars, again coming from horse carriages. The same with Mercedes, going from the traditional upright lights - to upright square lights (boxy, etc., ) and then to the same sleeked back look.

virtually all manufacturers have moved from the upright round lights look including BMW (e.g., E30 era or earlier) - but the older look will always be "classic" because it derives from classic 20s-era cars. Rolls still have them to an extent, because it conveys that classic horse-carriage image.

    That bike is cool :)

It says simply and poignantly "IMAGINE THIS BIKE IS MY COCK"

I think I might feel a bit self conscious riding that. It may also look like you are trying to bugger a big cat who is trying to get away from you as fast as it can.

There's a video of the Jaguar bike here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9v3T_eIkB0

It certainly looks like he's "Riding" the Jaguar, though maybe not how it was intended.

One small slip and it looks like you could lose your bollocks on the back wheel.

Interesting riding position. His legs are stupidly far back and it looks like virtually all of his weight is on his wrists. I would imagine doing any distance on that would be some what painful.

Famed automotive designer Gordon Murray, of the McClaren F1 has today unveiled his new car.

Like the F1 it features a 1+2 seating position, but weighs less than 1/2 of the McClaren @ 550kg.

    But.... :(

I would say thats actually a pretty good design for what it is. It's much better looking than a gee whiz for example which would be the market they are aiming at.

I don't think the t25 is particularly ugly, but this thread seems to be where new cars are discussed :D

Yeah maybe the thread needs renaming. Posting a new car in the ugly cars thread certainly sets a slightly incorrect expectation for discussion. I suggest "Cars" as the new title.

Can someone rename this thread maybe? I want to post pretty cars

Like this unbelievably gorgeous Lotus Elite. I mean, goddamn, just look at it

It's a hard-top convertible. Really want to see what it looks like with the top down

Meh. Modern cars - they all look the same ;-)

This, as everyone should know, is the most beatiful car ever!

That Elite looks great and being a Lotus, it will drive brilliantly as well. Apparently, it uses the same Toyota 5.0 liter V8 engine as the Lexus LFA supercar. Nice.

Slightly worried that Lotus is taking a risk with this - all their recent success has been from small, light, and relatively inexpensive cars. Let's hope this one proves to be a success.

That Lotus is very pretty but it's very pretty because the design phase apparently consisted of half an hour with an Aston Martin brochure and a sheet of tracing paper.

Edit: They took the nose from the Honda S2000 just to try and throw you off the scent.

That Lotus is fugly. Looks like a 10 year old has gone to town on a AM V8 Vantage.

I do think that modern cars are too curvy these days. It just gets a bit boring after a while and every car starts to merge into the last one.

What we need is a return to Countash-style angles and giant spoilers!

Its a bit of a weird change of direction, going from reasonably affordable, lightweight rockets to big ferrari alikes.
