    I'm terrible at distinguishing which words need a double l or single l, for example actually, definatelly, absolutely, etc etc. I just can't figure it out. The whole ei, ie thing in words can also cause me problems sometimes.

    I used to have trouble spelling necessary, then in high school my teacher told me to remember "one coffee, two sugars".

    Necessary.

    Necessary.

    My teacher taught me "never eat cakes eat sausages sandwiches and remain young". It stuck.

    I always struggle with the word "occasion", even then it took a couple of attempts to spell it correctly.

    Definitly = Finite.

    I find word association helps quite a bit on some of them

    I can never get the "e's" right on words ending in ly.

    Surely, truly.

    +1 TBH. Not fussed though - spelling correctly is soooo 20th century. I use IE 8 to post on EG (at work) without inline spell check. I generally use Firefox outside work with spell check. Way better.

    I always get courier wrong and have to correct it. For the guy on the other page who said rhythm, remember "rhythm has your two hips moving".

    More on topic, I can usually spell pretty well.

    My punctuation, however, is atrocious.

    Ecstasy always gets me too. It should be x's and c's. It never is. I blame the drugs.
