Best way to hardsub an .avi?

  • Deleted user 29 March 2009 20:24:31
Anyone know what the best way to hardsub an .avi is?

I currently use AutoGK and it's a bit hit and miss. I get a lot of errors and the programs never indicates what is wrong.

Three years and no answer. Anyone got a suggestion? I need to do this for a film fairly soon.

I think Handbrake can do it? It's very good, and it won't give you any viruses.

I think ffmpeg sites this perfectly if you fancy getting your hands dirty with command line.

Handbrake will do it, won't spit out an AVI as this isn't 1995 anymore.

In 1995, the only AVIs we had were the ones included on the win95 install disc.

Yes use Handbrake and turn it into an x264/mp4. Unless you are insanely picky, the re-encode doesn't really make a damn bit of difference to video quality.

ok. But you'd better not give me a virus. Your floppy is well old.

Should be a thank you. I use this, and it's so easy to use. Used to use handbrake although good, too complicated for me tbh
