Registered 16 years agoThereīs no official release date but it seems itīs going to be out in the beginning of 2010. -
Well late 2009, early 2010 I think they said in the EG preview.
I'm a bit sceptical about this one at the moment. I know there's very little real information about the advances made in the game, but it seems like it's BF:BC 1.5 to me so far. -

Actually, I'm more worried at the apparent removal of the death/respawn system as I think it worked really well in SP. -
Yes I agree Super_Zee, I really loved number 1. At the risk of opening a can of worms though, I came from PC Battlefield to Bad Company, and it was a big change. I'd love to see some more of what we had in BF2 implemented in BC2. Like for example creatable squads, command mode perhaps, and more classes.
If that doesn't happen though, I wouldn't be too upset. I'm sorta concerned that we've not seen any new vehicles, which of course is a massive part of BF.
Oh yeah, I forgot to comment on that last bit. It actually did make me think "How the hell are they gonna replace the stimpak system they created?". Well, DICE said they'd made a big improvement on the AI, so hopefully they'll be less accurate, but more intelligent. Maybe we'll be half dead not so often, in that case. Or maybe, they've reinstated the medic class?! Yes please. -

Registered 13 years agoUha! Considering how mindblowingly addictive the first one was, this is by far my most-wanted game at the moment.
That trailer looks like it's taking all the best parts of the older Battlefield games and merging them into Bad Company (black hawks, planes and such). Also, is that the improved destruction system I see at work there? That building definitely crumbled in a different way than I recall from BF:BC.
Why ain't more games using an arctic/snow scenario anyway? Tons of opportunities to play with that environment. I'm really hyped about this game already. It'll be a long wait

- Full destruction of buildings.
- They call it destruction 2.0. More large destructions as well as small-scale destruction.
- The trailer is showing the gold rush game-mode from the first game.
- Map is called "Port Valdez" (?). Industrial map set in Alaska.
- New vehicles: Blawk hawk (1 pilot + 4 people, 2 gunners), bike and AA-vehicle.
- One class is gone (the specialist).
- Medic needle is gone in favour for a very slow regenerating health.
- Dedicated mapped knife button - like COD, I suppose.
- All classes now have customizable slots (like KillZone 2?)
- More gadgets and specialization available for each class.
- New game mode, which he doesn't want to reveal yet.
Available on:
XBOX360, PS3 and PC (this time). Q1 2010.
Sounds like the developing team at DICE have been playing some KillZone 2. *eyes valli* -
Didn't like the Bad Company but the 2nd is looking very good. -

Registered 13 years agocan't wait for this. the single player campaign was great, and for what it was, the characters actually felt like real humans you gave a stuff about as opposed faceless grunt number 1, not very memorable grunt number 2, sure to be dead by the end grunt number 3 etc.
when i finished the first one the other day, i was hoping they'd actually keep the characters around for part 2. they've already got this halfway right by doing so. -

Fuck it. I guess Op Flash2, ODST, MW2 and to an extent Bioshock2 will sate my FPS bloodlust over christmas but this may be my most wanted out of all 5 of them and I don't want to wait.

Registered 13 years agoWhere does that news article say anything about Battlefield: Bad Company 2? It mentions Modern Warfare 2. I'm assuming you're aware that Modern Warfare is a different game?
I think Q1 seems like a better timing, where it'll also get some space to grab hold of us instead of going up against tons of other ambitious franchises. -

Registered 13 years agoIt's good if you're a run n' gunner, but if you're just a little bit defensive in your approach - then a kill cam will tear your strategy completely apart.
I'm a defensive kinda guy, needless to say :/ -
