| Snipers are useful as the squad can spawn off them loads tbh. Helicopters are just a fucking pain in the arse though. |

Registered 17 years agoYep. I lost count of the number of times I swore at the screen as I spawned on my one remaining squad mate, camped right in the corner of the map, a good few minutes trek from the action. -

Registered 15 years agoYeah, snipers in your attacking base is something that always confused me.
I hope BC2 has a dedicated commander though, it was clearly missing from BC. -

Registered 17 years agoI did not mind helicopters too much in BC. They are a bitch to take down with anything other than the AA guns but in general they don't own too much in the hands of most players. I certainly think it was better than in BF2 when helicopters were way too powerful and if they had an engineer on board they became almost invincible. -

Registered 17 years agoAye. Capping spawn points with helicopters in BF2 was rubbish. -

Registered 17 years agoI really liked 2142. The Titan mode was brilliant.
Unfortunately no-one played it. -

Registered 15 years ago2142 is my favourite after 1942 but the BF2 lot didn't really take to it and it had no widescreen support for some alien reason and the exemplified unlock system was a little unfriendly to newbies after the first month too but they did diversify the streamlined classes a lot too.
Still a great game though. Really looking forward to 1943, but can't quite convey my disappointment at it being an XBLA title with 3 bloody maps. -

Registered 17 years agoI missed out on 2142 as my PC was not up to it at the time that was released though I was not too fussed at the time as the future setting did not really do it for me.
It will certainly be interesting to see how they implement the transport choppers in BC:2 and lets hope they have learnt their lesson from BF2. -

Actually scrub what I said earlier, Vietnam had the best air/anti-air with 2142 a close second. The helicopter vs infantry on Vietnam was amazing, the best thing in the game tbh. -

Registered 15 years agoThere hasn't been a game since 1942 that has been as fun. Road to Rome was excellent, Secret Weapons was shit though.
I think I spend about a week real time in wake island.
You getting 1943 on 360 (or PS3lol) or PC? -

Wow a Vietnam fan. I knew there had to another
I loved the AA vs. chopper combat in BF:Vietnam. Hiding in some bush's with an SA2 under the most used flight paths was just so much fun.
BF:Vietnam probably is actually my overall favourite BF game (after they patched the ludicrous M60 as it was originally released). -

Registered 15 years agoM60 sniping was ace, you loon.
Was good though, heli copter tooled up to buggery hovering just above a ridge emptying all hell down on the infantry who scarper for cover and return fire whilst rock tunes blast out. It was something else really, not seen it before or since really. Gameplay is basically group 1 has sandbags/ground for cover, group 2 has helicopter movement for cover which worked really well. -

Registered 17 years agoWatched that MP beta footage the other day and noticed there was a red, blue and green team playing at the same time.
A sign that custom team games have been incorporated?
As for the kill-cam, it's not really the same as in COD4...COD4 killcam shows you being killed, BFBC2 killcam seems to show you your killer about 5 secs after they got you. -

Will there be proper server support this time around. Frontlineslol had proper server renting and browsing and BC really failed the clan scene tbh. Not that I've ever been in a BF clan but it's a big part of it. -

Registered 17 years ago@Humam That M60 kit was the most over power kit I have ever seen in an on-line game. Not only did they have the M60 with no recoil they gave them the AT missiles as well. You know you have you class balance wrong when everyone only plays one class and everyone only wants to be on the team that has that class/kit.
It was quite funny playing as the Vietnamese before they patched it as you were often on a much smaller team and it felt like you were fighting off waves of Terminators. -

Registered 15 years agoOh, I agree, the M60 pre patch was the best kit know to man kind. You murderised everything within a square mile.
I always ended up playing as the Vietnamese anyway during the early days and it was quite fun as you had to be a proper cohesive unit to avoid the terminators as you put it. They V players were always miles a head in terms of tactics and cover which did give rise to some massively intense gameplay where you just set traps and ambushes. Of course after the patch we were still amazing and the US players didn't know what hit them. -

Registered 17 years agoI ended up playing as the Vietnamese mostly as well. It was actually the more interesting side with the caltrops, bouncing betties and Sa2's. I also liked how the Vietnamese guns were in general more powerful than the US ones but had much more recoil to balance this.
Come to think about it they really need to remake BF:Vietnam in the BC engine
That could be so good and Vietnam theme would look so good on a big screen TV. -

Registered 15 years agoIf they did they, I hope they fix the log traps.
/stands behind log trap

/fires logs in random directions
/get hit in face by free flying log
/never uses log traps again -

Registered 17 years agoI forgot all about the log traps. I don't think I ever got a kill with one. I think most people must have given up on them as I really don't remember seeing them used much.
Nice idea though shame about the execution. -

Registered 15 years agoOh... so BFBC2 is coming to PC. That's a strange one. Why not keep it console only and release BF4 on the PC to keep the BF2 hardcore going for another 5 years.
Not sure if I'd want this on the 360 if a PC version is available too though. -

Registered 17 years agoMy PC won't be up to it so the choice is easy for me. I am quite a convert to console FPS's now anyway so I am not too worried.
The PC version no doubt will technically be the best version though as I am pretty sure the player cap has been raised. I do think the potential for mods with this engine might be pretty dam cool as the BF mod community have always been top notch and I have no doubt they could do some impressive stuff with this tech level. -

Registered 17 years agoThat will be someone seeing a sniper and that sniper being highlighted for you. I don't remember that happening that much though last time I played so maybe you were just on a map with lots of snipers. -

Even though Tesco are out of their cheap copies, I mkight just grab it from somewhere else if there's still a fairly good playing base. -
