Did any one see this yesterday on bbc 3? Basically a 13 year old deeply christian girl ventures out into Britain to see what life is like in the outside world. She's been protected from the "sins" of the world by her parents until now. It's quite touching and scary. Touching cause she does get ridiculed at times by her peers but then she makes her own problems by trying to convert a room of students by telling them they are all going to hell even if all they have done is tell a tiny lie. The scary part is at the end, when she actually breaks down and starts crying cause Jesus died for her sins. It has to be seen to be believed. |

That's what I thought when I first started watching, but it does let you see the world from her point of view which adds perspective.
Atheists can be arseholes too, is what I got from it. -

I'm never watching BBC 3 again after that stupid programme last night with people living like an animal to supposedly understand them better.
God that channel has a lot of shit on it.
It vaguely reminds me of the first episode of I'm Alan Partridge, where he starts listing awful ideas for TV shows like "Monkey Tennis". I think if that were today Partridge would be living it up as head of programmes for BBC3.
It does have alot of random shit on it, but it also has family guy and some really good documentaries at times. -

No-one should listen to jack-shit that a thirteen year-old says about the world at large. Certainly no-one should take a child of that age and exploit their naivete by basing a TV programme around their opinions. -

I fail to see the difference.
And really, would it kill these people to show a little gratitude towards this girl for attempting to save their immortal souls?
Having a greater amount amount of faith in their lord may perhaps set this next generation of binge drinking sodomites on a more righteous path than their probably destined for. -

She came across as never even considering that anything she had ever been told should be questioned in any way whatsoever and at times sounded exactly like people that join crazy cults.
The bit where she was talking to a group of kids asking them if they thought they were good people then asking them which of the 10 commandments they had broken as her pure definition of that was a little disturbing. -

Registered 14 years agoYeah, this documentary was sad and frightening in a way, also, someone needs to tell her bro that God doesn't appreciate the gayers. He so wants a bit of cock it was practically like watching Paul O'Grady getting down in the blue Oyster. Anyway, the parents should be shot, they're not preparing their children for the real world... -

Registered 16 years agoJust watched this. Its really interesting that a girl who's so mature and and articulate in many respects takes for granted such a massive part of her belief system. Must say I had a grudging admiration of her zeal, I wish I had that much drive to do things. Still I guess the fear of eternal damnation will do that to a person. -

Registered 14 years agoI thought the same thing in a way, I thought faith in God was supposed to be about love/forgiveness, etc, not about fear....It's just sad that her parents have done this to her IMHO. -

Yes, at the parents for continuing this constant indoctrination cycle of stupidity.
