Registered 17 years agoYou might be thinking of The Agency.
Alpha Protocol is'nt an MMO. and it does'nt look very spy-like either. -

Registered 15 years agoThe Agency is SOE. It is similar to Alpha Protocol however.
Also, I almost fell off my chair when I read the news. Clearly my prayers to various dark gods has paid off, as well, Obsidian were the ones working on Fallout 3 at Black Isle and hell, they made most of Fallout 2 back then too.
You lot clearly need some gaming education and need to get more excited. This is like christmas to us fallout fans. -

I had hoped that in the next Fallout they'd make it so that some greenery had started to return to the wasteland, but if its set in Vegas I don't see that happening. -

Registered 15 years agoExactly my thoughts. On a technical level, it'll be held together with tape and string, but the world and writing will be sublime, which is one thing Obsidian have never failed at.
Also worth pointing out that Vegas is only a a few miles down the road from the SE edge of the FO2 world map, so it's hardly a stretch and maybe will have something to do with the FO1-2 continuity.
If EA announced a System Shock 3 today, I'd request to move my birthday to today in respect to it.
Also Also, get more excited people, and get out with your total conversion crap.
/way too excited -
This better be good! I love Fallout 3. -

Depends how they tackle the NCR. They had tree's and they weren't that far from Vegas either. -

Eh? The SE of the map was the harbour, and it was about 3000 miles from the edge of the SW side...

Maybe if Warren Spector suddenly announced that Junction Point Studios was doing DX3 as well.

Fallout 2 map (note that right is east and left is west
)
Appears to be in french, but most of the names are recognisable. NCR being the southenmost large circle. -
Are idiots still pretending FO3 was a failiure? -

Registered 15 years agoAlso, fanboying some more, Necropolis from Fallout 1 is only 170 miles from vegas.
Though again, that could mean nothing depending if they use their NWN2 style engine to create a world map similar to FO1+2 (which would be doubtful) or if they use the same engine as Fallout 3 (which is more likley) as Fallout 3 is only around 20 miles across. -

Really should get around to playing Fallout 3.
Yeah, me too.
Nearly finished Racedriver: Grid and R2, so a choice of Bioshock or FO3 next. Although given how long FO3 is likely to take me, I'm leaning more toward (the shorter) Bioshock ATM... -

Good point, just my first thought was that since Las Vegas is in the Nevada desert, there ain't much in the way of large scale natural plant life, let alone a desert after a load of nukes have dropped on it. Though I suppose if the Hoover Dam survived then there might be an oasis round Lake Mead maybe.
Either that or all the desert could have been turned to glass (which would be kinda cool.)
There should also be some good pre-war Fallout lore at the Nevada testing facility. The pre-war lore is some of my favourite bits of the Fallout games. -
Does this mean Bethesda are working with Sega?
Sega own Obsidian, I believe. Or is this one of those Rare doing gaming on the DS when they're owned by MS anomalies? -

Yeah, you're right. I got them confused with Sports Interactive and the Creative Assembly who Sega did acquire. It's hard to believe they're still independent.
