Umm, that article doesn't say anything about filming at the moment. They did start but it got halted. May very well be back on again, though that'd a recent move. -

I don't know, someone should ask that noted yank Ridley Scott what he is playing at. -

Registered 19 years agoFilming is still going ahead as far as I know. A 15 minute sequence is being filmed on a beach near me next month (once the Harry Potter crew have cleared out) and they've already started clearing the land. -
Didn't we all know this about a year ago? -

Heh heh, fair point. It does make me wonder why they can't find an English actor to play Robin Hood. -

Registered 19 years agoApparently Freshwest is doubling up for a beach in Normandy or something like that. The location scout was making the scene sound very 'Gladiator-ish' with lots of cavalry and archers. -

Well Crowe can do an English accent at least, and he and Ridley are best buddys, so I guess if he is convincing it won't matter.
Bearing in mind when Crowe was cast this was going to be a Sherrif of Nottingham film, I think it was going to either portray him as misundersood or even that he was actually Robin Hood. -

I heard Shane Meadows say he wanted to do Robin Hood, with Paddy Considine as the Hooded Man.

Robin Hood, should be played by Paddy Maguire. -
No doubt this will be a gorgeous visual feast (that's Ridley Scott for you) but probably fucked over by the studio.
People will see the theatre cut and think it's shit.
Only for those who buy the later Director's Cut to realise it was another work of genius by Ridley.

Scene 1, white cliffs of Dover: We have to go to Notting-ham!
Scene 2, for some reason, Hadrian's Wall: Right, we really have to go to Notting-ham!
Scene 3, in deciduous forest, despite Notting-ham being evergreen: Man, that was a long day's journey! Thank God our horses travel at roughly 65mph to make this journey feasible. -
