Kirbys Adventure. Especially since it was entirely unexpected given the difficulty of the section just before it. Anyone who's played will know the bit I mean. Bloody globe thing.

The final bosses from Sonic 2 and 3 are the ones that immediately spring to mind from my youth. I used to play my way to them just to hear the music again, especially Sonic 3's as I got the double satisfaction of hearing the fantastic ending theme as well

Can't really think of any truly memorable recent ones though, although I liked the first Uroboros fight theme in Resi 5, which unless I'm really losing it, was also used somewhere in Gears 2.

Aside from the character designs this was the best thing in the game.

I stand by my final boss fight in Metal Gear Solid 4 that had a medley of all the different themes from each game. Brilliant.

versus bowser in mario galaxy is one of my faves alongside the meta-ridley theme. Ninja Gaiden alma fight had cool music too.
